"My parent," Jack corrected the other student without skipping a beat. Anything to take his mind off the pain. He'd answer anything right there and there. But his dad did not need to know about this. He'd been enrolled in a good school, all the way in Sentinel Hill so he wouldn't grow up like the rest of the Arkham ruffians. Or grow into a bad person who was as unreasonable as he was violent. His dad was well-intentioned; Jack didn't want that good intention to go to ruin after his missteps at school were made known to his dad. "If I go back in one piece, I swear it's fine. He's not always around." Jack always timed himself so he wouldn't have to stare at his dad in the living room when he got home. He didn't want to tell his dad how his day went, or if he had problems with homework. He could solve them on his own, right? "He doesn't need to worry. It's hard enough being a dad." HOWLING(( seven minutes in heaven, six minutes in hell ))
