Old Lafayette
Old Lafayette marks the borders of the turn of the century Lafayette. Here, you find the rustic city hall, the quaint gardens, the olde shoppes, the old salons that have reeked of good southern comfort and fine whiskey since ragged colonists founded the city. This is the heart of town. The other areas are all just urban sprawl.

Francesca
The neighborhood along the water, Francesca is the closest Lafayette gets to commercial. The riverside is lined with a boardwalk of mom and pop shops with a few scattered chain stores. The restaurants serve rich southern comfort food, and the bars serve local beers. On weekends, it's almost busy, but the truth is that most people don't have the money to spend.
Port Reverie
Reverie is the last vestige of Lafayette's wealth, a still active thoroughfare along the Mississippi for cargo boats. While Lafeyette is passed over for most river cruises, it's a popular rest stop for sailors to anchor for a day to rest and recover. Port Reverie is a bit upstream of Lafayette proper, but cheap ferries and an electric tram take people to the city proper.

Sugarford
Technically a different city altogether, Sugarford is across the river, located in the state of Mississippi. Overall, it's practically the same as the rest of Lafayette with the same fading culture, but historically, Sugarford was a village of free men, and even now it has a more liberal bent than its neighbors.

Montblanc
Essentially a suburb, but Montblanc is sprawling plantation after sprawling plantation, large enough to be its own county. It reeks of old money, and the locals consider Lafayette a cesspool that they'd rather ignore. Hidden behind acres of landscaped lawns, the rich and wealthy enjoy their prosperity with the rest of the world out of sight and out of mind.

Danbury
While the wealthy fled to Montblanc as Lafayette declined, the normal people moved to Danbury. It's suburbia at its finest: identical little cottages with white picket fences surrounding a yard large enough for dogs to play, for blocks and blocks and blocks. It's cute. It's quaint. It's... kind of creepy. Everything looks the same.
Bayou Morgan
Bayou Morgan is a a brackish swamp, home to all sorts of flora and fauna. It's a nature reserve for various endangered species, and people are supposed to stay away. Bayou Morgan has an awful reputation for freakish deaths, but that only serves to draw in tourists like flies to honey. The government grudgingly allows tourism, because they need the money.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
Lafayette
A quiet town in Louisiana, once a city, now little more than antiquated buildings, dusty streets, and echoes of the past. A hundred years ago, Lafayette was a vibrant crossroads, filled with music, dance, culture, and--if rumors are to be believed--magic. Recently, the Initiative chose Lafayette for its second base. Perhaps heroes can revitalize the town.
