Ahh, Arkham. A city even he really doesn't even like to be him. It just wasn't a place for him but even so. Villian's were good assets as well.
Maria walked around the streets of Arkham rather courageously. There was no immediate danger to be present he continued to walk around. This place even in the afternoon was quite a weird place to be in. While he enjoyed the comfort of someplace warm he actually needed to come here. Why? He honestly didn't know. Something drew him out here and he was determined to know why.
But so far, he'd wait to see why.

If anything, Maria was pretty well-known. Being an A-Rank whatever kind of did that to people -- or maybe it was just the face. One couldn't tell reliably these days, anyway. A pretty-lookin' face like that show up, the people of Arkham were bound to talk. Listen for news in the right places, and learning things wasn't too hard. But Jack gave that no heed. Kid was absorbed in his game. Got a boss to kill under the turn limit, or before his recovery items ran out, whichever was faster. While everyone talked about the new arrival in town and did power checks on who they were, Jack just checked his current stats to see if he could get that boss kneeling down at his feet. He glanced up, met Maria in the eye, then went back to playing his game. Yeah, whatever. MARIA

SORRY THIS IS GROSS AND SHORT jack Maria eventually wandered into a small area and found a body playing a game. He glanced over at a young man and something clicked. He felt something different with this man. "Oh?" there was a very distinct energy he had. "Hello," he spoke very softly as he walked over to the boy on the bench. "Would you like to see a little bit of magic?" he said smiling.

Ugh, not these street performers. See a lil bit of magic, get conned out of some cash. No thanks, bro. Jack didn't even look up from his game. Man, maybe he really should have picked up more Hi-Potions at the shop, but he was playing one of those challenge runs. In hindsight, it was a dumb idea. It hampered his enjoyment of the game too many times, that's what it did. Sensing that the shadow of the 'magician' still before him, Jack popped his Vita into standby mode, turned off the screen, and glanced up at the person. "Nah, I'll pass." He got up from the bench, shifting his cross-shoulder bag as he did so. "Don't tell anyone I said this, but some kids around here don't take well to these kind of offers. They might shank you." Yoooooooooo i hope this doesn't feak the lil white boy out too much rip jack Maria felt a little dissapointed when the young man didn't want to see the magic he was about to do and amaze this little child's mind. Like um. excuse?
Maria sighed looking at the boy as his eye's glew a bright gold as a ring of fire appeared around both of them surrounding them as it died out leaving a small burnt ring. "I think I can handle myself. Thank you for your concern, but that warning isn't very needed." he spoke with a soft smile on his face.
"But I'm not average o'l magician. And nor do I expect any money, I would just like to see something if it's not too much to ask. I do hope you reconsider. I will take but a moment of your time."

Whoa, hold on just one second there -- Jack glanced at the singed ground around him, jaw agape not from surprise but from mild exasperation. What the hell was up with these super-powered people thinking like they owned the goddamn place? Never mind the chaos they created whenever something threatened the existence of the world; more importantly, did they think that public property was free game for anyone to just destroy at will? He inhaled lightly, and told himself to calm down. It took some work before he managed to rein in his temper. He might not have been at risk of getting stabbed by the kids that ran wild around this part of town, but he was definitely at risk of being on the receiving end of some magic. And he'd rather not be subjected to that. "I wasn't going to give you any," said Jack, trying not to think about how he had carelessly spent most of this week's allowance, "But what is it you want? If you don't tell me, I can't make a decision." MARIA(( rip Jack? more like Jack the not-ripper ))
