Odette was a quaint town. It didn't have much in terms of shops or people. What it had a lot of was trees and nature, if one was into that sort of thing. Luzifer had been here less than a month, but he'd already seen almost everything it had. It was a nice place, and never in want of anything hectic. That suited him just fine. He tilted his cup and drank until it was empty. The door to the riverside eatery burst open, and a bunch of tourists hobbled in looking absolutely terrible. The lady behind the counter gasped. Luzifer didn't know if it was because of the money they were going to spend, or the fact that they looked like they had seen something they really shouldn't have. He wasn't about to ask. He flagged down a waitress and ordered some mashed potatoes. ABYSSINIAN

Somewhere out in the Morgan, K'shiel had turned a row of trees and a lost tourist into scratching posts. He'd watched from above as the tourists found the eviscerated body, left in too many parts to pick up and take back to town. He'd trailed them as they returned to Odette.
K'shiel left them to go back to Lafayette, picking up a hat to cover his ears and relieving a passerby of his wallet. When he came back, he was a short distance outside town, appearing out of thin air with none the wiser. He wandered into the town on foot and turned towards the only restaurant in town.
...He didn't remember there being quite this many tourists. It was jam-packed in here, and K'shiel looked for breathing room before he decided to turn a whole lot more people into scratching posts.
A waitress bumped into him, carrying an entire tray's worth of drinks. K'shiel did not cut her, although he wanted to. "Over there," she said, pointing to a table with only one person there. "There's a spot, I'll be with you in a second."
K'shiel, in a rare enough event, did as he was told.
He sat down, diagonal from Luzifer, and opened the wallet he'd acquired. It had a few twenties and some loose charge. K'shiel was not an expert on money, but that seemed like enough money to get by here.
"Why are there so many of them?" K'shiel asked Luzifer, as if he would have an answer.

Luzifer shrugged. It wasn't as if he knew what was going on. He watched K'shiel inspect the contents of his wallet, and figured that he was most likely a tourist if he didn't have a tab at the restaurant. Most of the locals did; it wasn't worth the hassle to pay because it meant battling hordes of tourists demanding explanations as to why their meal costed more than it should have. The waitress returned to their table with Luzifer's mashed potatoes, an extra cup, and a tired look K'shiel's way. "What will you be having, sir?" she asked, wearily. Luzifer wordlessly took K'shiel's cup and filled it with berry tea from the pot. ABYSSINIAN
