Every day glasses were cleaned, shined a little more with his efforts as he looked at his bar. It was still early. The doors had opened just a while ago, and a few people had already come and gone. He'd recognized a few regulars but hadn't spoken to them beyond serving them their drinks. It was during these hours that mainly newer (or less experienced) came and tried to absorb the atmosphere.
Feeling on his shoulder, he lifted his attention from where he was staring, barely hearing his coworker's concerns. A polite nod was given, along with a few reassurances, before they'd left him alone once more.
He picked up another order.
With a few swift movements, another drink was on hand: a Harvey Wallbanger. which he slid across the counter, right into the customer's hand. A word of thanks was given but nothing more.
He stopped and rubbed the bridge between his eyebrows, feeling as though something were off. Maybe it was just the slowly growing headache that was bothering him.

Maria wandered into the bar looking at the bartender. "A headache?" Maria said with a small smile. "Have you been drinking enough water today?" he asked sitting down at the bar. "I'll take a vodka with something citrusy," he spoke looking around. Tis was Maria's first time being here so it was actually pretty interesting.
"Nice place," he complimented.

Pulling the hand away from his face, he looked towards just where the voice had come from. "Not quite, but thank you for your concern—and the compliment." he answered, allowing a small (polite) smile to show through.
He rubbed his chin, looking at the customer with a critical eye. Just what kind of drink would suit them? He flipped through the mental pages of recipes he had on 'hand' before settling on one he believed would suit them.
Just as they wanted, there was a citrus and vodka and plenty of other things tossed in. A swift and smooth motion, and the drink was ready.
"Ever had a 'Rosebud'?"

( Was going to go for one of the crazier named drinks, but nah. )

Maria chuckled at the man, "You're welcome darling." he said politely as he waited for his drink to be made. He hadn't had a lot of alcoholic tastes, very few actually and never bothered exploring out of the usual vodka, whiskey, beer and rum.
Looking at the man as he scanned over him and started making his drink he watched as the man spoke to him again. "Hm?" he had never had a rosebud before, but hey? Here's to trying new things right? "I have not, no, I don't really drink a lot." he said chuckling at himself as he looked at the drink. It was very pretty.
"May I try?"

A rosebud, the name alone was fitting of their appearance, with those golden curls cascading over their shoulders. Its color might not have matched, but he imagined the its taste would go down just as smoothly.
He pushed the drink closer to them.
"I made it for you," he remarked.

"Thank you," Maria remarked back taking the drink as he took a few sips it down. It went down rather smoothly and its taste was delightful. "This was lovely," he said with glee in his voice. He started to drink more of it, "Can you get a bottle and fill it just this" he said chuckling.

The bartender watched curiously. It had disappeared quite quickly. He didn't mind that part; it meant he was good with his choices. It was just curious how easily they'd taken to a stranger's choice, regardless of the intentions of going to a bar in the very first place.
"An bottle?" He repeated with a quirked eyebrow.

"Can you. Get an empty bottle. And fill it up. With. Just. This." he repeated slowly this time, not more for a condescending tone. More of a reiteration mixed with a little bit of humor. "Just a bottle filled with this rosebud drink," he said with a smile on his face looking up at the man. "Twas actually a joke at first, but if you can actually do that that'd be wonderful. But if you can't that's fine too my dear."

He let out a long hum, as though he actually thought about it for a bit. Beyond the obvious, It wouldn't be as good of a drink to drag about in a bottle. A mixed drink like that wasn't suited for bottling and shelving as though it were a Long Island Iced Tea.
"Unfortunately, we don't provide that sort of service." He would answer. "But I'm glad you enjoy it enough to want a bottle of it."

Maria looked up at the bartender, "Oh it's fine dearie," he spoke with a polite smile. "Anything else quite as citrusy as this?" he wanted something else, he just got here and didn't want to quite leave yet, he wanted to make his stay worth it and his patronage worth it as well.

Another drink without a name. Well then, what else could he come up with?
His hands moved quickly behind the counter. Ingredients followed, rising and falling with each act, before successfully falling into the perfect drink. Orange soda was the last touch, giving it, its color.
"How's this?" He placed the drink before them. "It's a Tiger Paw."

Maria looked at the new drink the bartender made it was rather dark. "Hm." he might as well stay here until he's drunk, why not? Or a least a bit tipsy. He grabbed the drinking swirling it around a little bit before drinking it down. He was got the shivers as he enjoyed the drink. "Wonderful!" he spoke looking down, "Another one please!" he gleeful said with cheer. "You know Mr.bartender, I don't think I know your name?" he said queerly. "I'm Maria."

His lips pressed together into a faint smile and obliged.
"Very well."
The drink was quickly made, and he set it before the androgynous man. Woman? Ah, pronouns they used these days were still rather confusing. He didn't really care, it wasn't as though he knew people by anything other than their code names.
"My name is Mercury." His birth name was irrelevant at this point, considering how often he'd traveled as a civilian. Even the legal name the building was under wasn't it. After all, according to it, he was his own great-great-grandson sometime removed or something like that. The initiative knew better, obviously. "It's a pleasure, Maria."

"Mercury was it?" he responded grabbing the drink and this some drinking it slowly to stay a bit longer. "Lovely place you got here, drink's are pretty great too." he complimented. "This is going to be my last drink before I go home before I order more and get drunk." he laughed a bit at himself.
"Before I finish this and go. Do you have any drink recommendations as I will most ertaintly be back."

"Of course."
Putting aside the fact that he was the owner and manager of the building, he started as a bartender in this island. Knowing more than a few drinks was something that came as easily to him as breathing.
"I'd be more than glad to serve you again—as long as you pay your bill."
