There was a first time for everything, including nerves. For the first time in forever the shaggy black haired man was actually a bit nervous about the current situation he had thrust himself in. Not that it was uncomfortable, simply that it was unexpected in a very pleasant way. Throughout his time with The Initiative the man had been paired with quite a few people, most of them lame, but of the people not within this quantum field of lameness was Bast. It was something about that field of wheat blonde hair, fiery passion, and overall gorgeousness that left Genesis in awe. Though he was rarely hesitant with anything it had taken him awhile to build up his gumption to ask the Goddess out for a night on the town with him. And even then he had already expected to be turned down for some, uppity, stick in the butt, superhero instead. They were just too different. Or at least that was the thought he formed in order to cushion the blow of being turned down. However that wasn’t the case, a feat that even through his nervousness made a wide grin of glee stretch across his handsome face.
Though Gen was never popular with the uptight buttcakes of Kingsbury who wanted every Superhero to be some caped braindead piece of boredom, he was popular with the youth and younger adults of the city for his less than...manneristic ways of going about things. To them he was exciting and they’d soon grow to know him as someone who could take your party or event to the next level (to the dismay of The Initiative). However this is why he was plugged into all the dank events that took place around the city. The events where suits weren’t allowed, moving your body was necessary, and throwing back shots and beers was equally as important. So it was no surprise when he was hit up with the invitation to go to the All White Affair at club Temperature. Yet when he got the invite it just seemed like the most perfect time to ask Bast out. I mean she loved to dance right? And he was more than sure that her chosen outfit would be stunning on her as he’d always known her to have an exquisite sense of style.
Speaking of sweat however, Genesis looked at his hand in near amazement as it started to get a bit clammy around the steering wheel of the newly acquired 2017 pearlescent Corvette in all white down to the rims. Though his stipend wasn’t anywhere near huge, he did make and save enough to treat himself every now and then as he didn’t believe in frivolous spending. Could the pair have ran to the affair? And been there faster, but there was something about the way that humans did things sometimes that almost seemed just as special as being able to punch thru walls, and this was one of the rituals that he was always fond of in the movies. Guy goes to pick up gorgeous girl for a night in the lights with his fancy sports car. Weaving thru traffic like mad, Genesis looked down at his watch before placing his white Converse Chuck Taylor to the floor, encouraging the machine to go faster and it responded. He couldn’t risk being late...or well he could, but he definitely didn’t want to. So with a shit ton of horns blaring at his maniac driving, all he had was a lanky middle finger for them as he whizzed by.
Laughing maniacally, the man did last minute adjustments to his V-neck and pressed white Levi’s before looking into the rearview mirror to make sure his toboggan/goggles combo was on point as he swerved to the left, nearly avoiding rear ending some dude’s minivan. But seriously, why was a minivan guy even out this late? Nonetheless, he didn’t fixate on such things, instead turning the steering strongly as he rounded the final corner to Bast’ layer, or at least where she had told him she stayed. Dramatically spinning out into the parking space, the roar of the engine went down to a quiet purr as he hopped out, inhaling heavily in an attempt to clear his nervousness. It didn’t work. Checking his watch once more, he gave it a tap as he thought to himself, "Right on time!”Walking around the vehicle, he snatched open the door as he awaited her arrival, attempting to practice chivalry. As he grabbed the door handle to pull it open, it seemed as if his nerves had gotten the best of his strength, as he accidently ripped the entire door off the hinges. It was almost like his brain couldn’t accept what had just transpired as he looked at the door within his hands then back to the gaping hole where it used to be over and over. Yelling out to the universe, he said, ”Freakin’ really! Uuuuuuuugh.” Facepalming, Genesis wouldn’t even notice as the fair maiden approached him with the door still in his clutches.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ Bast had been more than a little surprised when Genesis first asked her out. For some reason, Gen had never come across to her as the dating type. Bast would have thought the ‘young’ man would have preferred to spend his time where he always did–namely, partying with the youth of the city. Bast smiled a little as she thought about it. When he’d made his request, Genesis hadn’t seemed his usual confident self. In fact, if Bast had to guess, he had almost been too nervous to ask her to go out with him at all. Of course Bast had accepted. Genesis seemed nice–if his previous behavior had been any indicator, he could even be quite shy underneath his typical, gruff exterior. And he had said he’d take her dancing at a club in the old part of town. The old boy had certainly done his research, that much was certain. It was only natural that Bast would reward his efforts. He’s not too bad to look at, either. Bast licked her lips at the thought. No, no, not bad at all... In the time before Gen was supposed to stop by to pick her up, Bast had been a very busy girl. As soon as she got home, she undressed and took a lovely long bath to relax and clean up before her night on the town. She’d already picked out her outfit for the evening, and just had to work on a few finishing touches. As she stood in front of her dressing mirror, she thought she looked quite fetching. Hopefully, Genesis would think so. She wondered if perhaps she’d chosen to be just a bit too exotic for their first evening together. It was too late to change now, though; she could hear Genesis driving in. As she stepped outside, Bast’s eyes widened. Gen was standing to the side of his car, holding the front passenger door in his hand. Bast had heard Genesis was strong, and a quick look at the car was enough for her to deduce what had happened. “Wow.” She giggled as she walked up. “I guess they just don’t build ‘em like they used to!”

”Whoa…”, Genesis muttered to himself as Bast stepped outside to greet him. Her aroma was so tantalizing, like it was creating pink words through the air and smacking him in the nostrils. But that was only secondary to how stunning she looked right now. Very eye catching to say the least, as the ancient man tried to keep his eyes at face level instead of them wandering down her chest to her exposed stomach, to her long le-. Shaking his head, he had realized that he had been staring at the woman in awkward silence for a moment, only now hearing her words fully as he said, ”Huh? Oh the car, yeah. For a moment I thought you were talking about me. Ya know, handsome, tall, superpowered, and living off basically minimum wage! Cause they sure don’t.”
He was trying to exude his usual confidence, but his voice was coming out almost choppy due to the nerves he was feeling as he felt his face began to glow hot. Spinning around so she couldn’t see, he said, ”Well I mean, let me get the door for you.” Forgetting he had the door in his hand, he turned back to look at empty space before silently whispering to himself, ”Stupid, stupid, stupid. Ugh, you’re blowing it Gen-El…” Placing his chin against the roof of the vehicle he spun back around to face, Bast, who he was sure he had likely freaked out by now and that she was regretting saying she’d go. Nonetheless he felt like he should just go ahead and lay his nerves on the table and then maybe it would get better. Seemed like a sound idea right.
Stepping closer to her he bellowed, ”Listen, I know I’m supposed to be the epic extra awesome guy that is the prodigal son of The Initiative. The lady slaying, statue of dankness that every man with some sense would like to be. But I’m gonna be honest with you, Bast, ya make me nervous. BUT NOT IN A BAD WAY”, he said hurriedly as he placed his palms out, sarcasm oozing out his voice as he spoke himself up, ”But I don’t know, you’re just pretty cool, and I don’t like wanna mess this up. I usually wouldn’t care and all but-” At that moment a kid named Bradley who was about fourteen rode by the pair on his Mongoose and yelled, ”Haha! Genesis can’t find his words, what a loooooooser.” Laughing jovially Genesis shot back, ”Well Brad, you still can’t find your neck bro. GET YOU SOME!”
As the young man flipped Gen off, they both shared a laugh as he rounded a corner and the man clad in white looked back in the direction of Bast. ”Like I was saying before Snowball said his piece. If you just give me a little time, I’m sure I can make this a night you’ll want to tell all your hero girlfriends about. Or at least make a music video dancing about me? Yes? Maybe? Nah?” He had to slow himself down, as he turned again putting his door back on the hinges, as his eyes began to glow producing hellishly hot beams that melded the metal back together. He half expected to hear the blonde’s shoes clambering back to her chambers as he swung back around, hopefully inviting her into his car if she stuck around.
