◄ NOW IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. The Extra Terrestrial took a seat at an empty table with his dinner in hand. A Cheeseburger, Fries, and a bottle of Cola. The boy licked his lips as he starred down at his plate of food. He absolutely loved Earth, especially because of it's fine cuisine...or fast food in this case. It made the food on Mars seem gross and tasteless. Rubbing his hands together, the black-haired Clil'agh snatched up his burger and began to eat it, the taste of ketchup, american cheese, beef, onions, and two lightly toasted sesame buns bursting in his mouth. His heightened senses only made the experience a better one. He then reached for the Cola, the Cheeseburger still in his left hand as he sipped from the bottle. The beverage was sweet and had a fizzy texture to it. Awesome. To others at the Initiative Cafeteria, the Superhero probably seemed over enthusiastic as he practically inhaled his food but it was his first time having such a meal after all. Suddenly, though, he stopped enjoying his meal as he heard footsteps approaching his table. "Huh?", he said curiously as he peered over to see another hero coming towards his table. It was a female, one who he did not know. Not that Co'nor cared, he did like meeting new people, after all. Lunchtime was finally here! After catching up on the latest history by reading dozens of history books today, Annabelle was outside with her earbuds in her ear she retrieved lunch. A BLT burger with pepperjack cheese and caramelized onions. She also got herself some soda and stole four pieces of toast while nobody was looking. She made her way to the rows of chairs before spying an empty spot next to one of the heroes she hadn't seen before. She walked over there and sat down next to him.
"Howdy! I'm Annabelle! It's okay if I sit here and eat my burger, right?" She picked up a few fries and dipped them in some mustard before eating them and washing them down with cola. Delicious... She took her earbuds out and paused her mp3 player... Good thing Morricone taught her how to use it
"People call me Star Ryder, since that's my hero name. Haven't seen ya around before! What's your name?" She took another fry and repeated the process before swallowing the delicious potato slice and chasing it down with the carbonated beverage. Not to mention the fact that she still had the burger to finish up!
Annabelle was wearing her traditional hero outfit, with the exception of having her hat off and on the table. It was the respectable thing to do, wasn't it? She listened to see what her fellow food eater had to say...

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. The black-haired boy watched as the girl sat next to him, requesting his permission to sit next to him. The Clil'agh replied with a simple, "Sure." There was no way she was going to just sit there silently so he was prepared for conversation. Not that he minded it, but, he was pretty hungry and was more interested in finishing his burger than talking at the moment. But, Co'nor didn't mind getting to know Annabelle. He didn't have many friends anyway. When she asked his name after telling him hers, he answered like any other person. "People call me 'Phantom'! My real name is Co'nor Co'por, and honestly, I prefer that to my Hero Name!" He said, smiling warmly as he held his Cola in hand. The boy then decided that he wanted to make this conversation a little bit more...interesting. Knowing she did not tell him her full name, he used his power of Telepathy to find out. "Cloudia, huh?", he smiled once again, "That's a nice last name!" He felt a tiny bit of guilt for trespassing her mind like that but he quickly shrugged the feeling off. It's not like he went through her whole life or anything. He just found out her last name, that's all. But he waited for Annabelle's reaction to judge whether he did something wrong or not. Hopefully he was met with excited curiosity rather than repent.

Whie he was starting a conversation, she had already begun eating her burger. He seemed pretty nice! Right as she was about to agree with him about using normal names, he said her last name. It wasn't that surprising, she had a few run ins with varioustelepaths and her name was known to the public, but it did make her drop the burger back onto the plate. She turned towards him, about to ask how he knew until she pieced the pieces together.
Then again, his name did sound familiar to her. Perhaps it was the way he siad it, but still, she ventured that t was martian in origin. She quickly decided to use that instead of asking how on earth he knew her name. "Erm...Co'por! That's a rather nice name! It's Martian, right? God, Mars was beautiful when my crew visited it... First planet outside of earth I went to. Wish I could go back sometime... Co'nor sure is a nice name too!" She took up a napkin and dabbed the sides of her face with it to clean it off.
"Anyways, yeah, my last name's Cloudia. Ii can't exactly remember where it came from but my parents were from Georgia. I honestly prefer my name over the hero name. Gives me more pride, y'know?" She returned to the burger and took a bite out of it again, chewing it and swallowing it before taking a swig out of her cup. Man, this food was good. Phantom ,

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. Co'nor moved a strand of hair to the side as he listened to Star Ryder, who had figured out that he was a 'Martian'. The boy found the term 'Martian' to be a bit of an over simplification, however. Yes, he was a 'Martian' scientifically but that wasn't what he was specifically. Similar to how humans are scientifically 'Animals' but are called by the name of their specific species, which are humans. But the subject quickly slipped his mind once she began to talk about Mars itself. Flashes of the massacre of his race popped into her mind ever so often as she spoke. He frowned with a sense of sadness as he remembered the faces of his dead family members. Complete and utter agony. And the worst part was that the Alien Ship that held the creatures responsible just floated there in the death-filled air of Mars that day, taunting him, taking pity on him. He then snapped back to reality as she mentioned she'd love to go back one day. He looked down at his tray and gave her a simple reply, "I'm afraid that isn't possible. If you went, it'd be a wasted trip. There's nothing there to see. It's all gone." He looked back up and met the Pink-Haired woman's eyes with his own and forced a smile to appear on his face. "But hey, I'm still here! So whatever questions you have about Mars, I could answer them!" Not that he wanted to. But it was a nice thing to do. After all, he did just snap her hopes of returning to Mars in half. It was the least he could do.

Annabellesat in silence after hearing that. Mars? Fallen? It idn't seem possible to her. It was such a great place... She cleared her throat and looked back over at him.
"I'm so sorry... I didn't know... All I can say is... Sy'omta k'neridsh cl'kanu versash.["May the sands warm your feet" is a saying of goodwill]" It had been a while since she spoke in the Cli tongue. She then cleared her throat once more. "Also, aologies for calling you Martian. I'm still trying to get used to talking back in my native tongue of English. In "Cli" your race is the Clil'agh, right?" She took another bite of her burger and swallowed it, washing it down with a bit more soda.
"You don't have to talk about Mars if you don't want to... Other than a brief explanation of what happened. Actually, you know what, let's not talk about it right now..." She was getting rather flustered and was trying to think of a different topic at the moment... Oh what to do, what to do? Ah! She tried to return the smile back. "So, what are your skills? I'm pretty good with alien species identification and a bit of diplomacy, but I mainly just round up villains using my cowgirl powers. So, what about you?" This ought to diffuse the situation. Talking about something that disastrous was not really a good way to start introductions... Phantom ,

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. The boy smiled at Annabelle's words. He hadn't heard Clil'agh in nine years. It was quite refreshing to hear the language once again, especially since the words he heard before Annabelle's were extremely haunting. Looking at her once again, Co'nor spoke, "Thank you, but, my feet do not deserve the warmth of the sands."When she apologized for calling him a Martian, he simply nodded. It wasn't that serious, but he did respect her for taking the initiative and apologizing regardless. She was pretty understanding too. She understood how sensitive the subject of Mars was which made Co'nor much more comfortable. When she asked about his powers though, that's when the Clil'agh's face lit up. Flipping his hair aside, the boy slammed his hands on the table smiling ear to ear. "You wanna know my powers, huh?", he smiled confidently, eyes closed as he stroked an imaginary beard. "As you may know, all Clil'aghs have Superhuman Conditioning but I can do a whole lotta other stuff! Mostly thanks to my mutation. And yes, Aliens get Mutations too."The Extra Terrestrial focused on Annabelle and entered her mind, establishing a mental link. "I can communicate Telepathically," from there he went on to telekinetically move a burger through the air before placing it down again. "I have Telekinesis." He then shot a laser from his eye at a fry on his tray, incinerating it. "Heat Vision." His hand turned into a ghostly form of itself as he moved it through his Cola bottle. "Intangibility." Lastly he focused on Star Ryder herself and soon enough, became a spitting image of her, exact same physique, pink hair, facial features, clothes and all. "And I can shape shift.", he said smirking as he reverted back to his normal form. "Not to mention Flight, Enhanced Senses, Genius-Level Intellect and X-Ray Vision." A grin crawled over the alien's face once again. He hadn't shown off like that in a while.

Annabelle watched as he explained his powers while she nibbled on her fries. She watched with wide eyes as he continued to enthuse all of his powers to her. She giggled as he passed his hand through the soda cup, and almost fell out of her chair after he shape-shifted into a form of herself. She giggled and sighed. Pulling out a ball from her side holster and fidgeted with it.
"Well... Best I got is a horse made of stardust n' lasers and prosthetics. Not as versatile as your powers, that's for sure. I envy guys like you, but then remember it'd probably be a bit too difficult remembering how to do what pow'r." She slurped from her straw and emptied her drink before setting her chin on her hand, propping up her face to look at Co'nor.
"So, Earth meetin' yer standards? I mean, I'd say it's a little borin' considerin' we only have one moon and whatnot. But man, once you see the three moons of Glania 9 and the forever Amber ocean... It's really hard to compare. 'Ceptin' for maybe sunrise at the beach. That's purdy. But, anyways, yeah, what'cha think about the third rock from the sun?"
She was really interested in Co'nor. He was different, like her. Albeit, she still had her race all around, but she came from a different time and was on board an alien ship for many years. They were both having o adjust to modern life, she thought. Then again, she didn't know exactly when he arrived on earth...
"Uh... Also, when'd you arrive on earth? I only got back here a few months ago and I'm still tryin' to adjust to life..."

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. Co'nor smiled as prepared to answer her questions of how was his experience on Earth and when he arrived on the planet. He picked up a fry and ate it, then proceeded to open his mouth to speak. "Well, after arriving eight years ago, I can say, Earth is a beautiful place! At least, unlike Mars, it's not full of red desserts and volcanoes almost everywhere you go. And the Climates are much better. But the people of Earth can be pretty...disastrous sometimes. Meaning some people just do the wrong things to put many other lives and danger, and that I do not like.", he said as he reached for his cola and took a sip. When he finished, he spoke once again, "However, Humans redeem themselves time and time again with good-hearted people like you, or the many other heroes here, or the normal humans that save their families everyday through hard work and no super powers. So, I think Earth is a great place. There are some bad things here and there, but Mars shared some of those flaws too. We were FAR from perfect.", laughing as he deemed is own race imperfect, he continued to speak. "We are no better than humans, honestly. But back to your powers..."He leaned in to about the middle of the table and rose a brow in curiosity. "You said you have a horse made out of pure stardust, right?" He smiled brightly. "Mind if I see said horse?"

Annabelle listened intently as he explained how different Mars was from Earth. The subject fascinated her, considering that she herself felt like a stranger in a strange land. It was a different time now, with advanced technology that really confused her due to how "primitive" yet complex it was. Also, the culture here in Kingsport was different from back at the ranch. Yet, still, Co'nor had to deal with actually being a different species, and probably adjust a bit more.
She cleared her throat and her eyes started to shine at the mention of the horse. "Crusador? Well, let me think for a moment... I think he was made as one of the few Stardust Creatures, which are machinations that have been imbued with life to a certain context that will always obey their master. He's actually the only animal crafted to look like an earthen animal. Anyways, I think he was made from the remnants of the Vianoloji Star? It erupted in a supernova, and the creatures harnessed some of the energy and dust, creating Crusador."
She finished the explanation of him and wiped her brow. She then looked back over at Co'nor. "I can do ya one better! How about I take you on a ride on Crusador and give you a few lessons, and in exchange, you take me flying! I ain't ever been flying with a super before, and it'd be pretty awesome if I could actually do it! I've always dreamed of flying..." She ate one last french fry and then thought for a moment. "Oh! You want to do it after ya finish eating? I'm sure Crusador would love to meet ya!" Phantom ,

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. The black-haired boy tapped his chin, pondering on Annabelle's deal. Eventually, he came to an absolute decision. "Alrighty then! It's a deal!", the alien said as he gave a warm smile, continuing to speak, "You give me Stardust Horse riding lessons, and I'll take you flying! Oh, and I don't mind going before I finish my food. I can hardly wait as is!"Picking up the silver tray he walked over to the garbage can and dumped his food inside. It was only a tiny bit of the burger and some fries left anyway. He already finished his cola. Once he finished he placed the dirty tray on the stack of dirty trays that resided on a platform above the garbage. He then head back to the table where Annabelle sat.Once he arrived he sat and asked Annabelle a simple question. "So, where do we get this horse of yours? Do you just play a song and it pops up or is it actually in a stable?" The boy was more excited about a horse than he should have been according to human standards but you couldn't really blame him. It was a freakin' STARDUST Horse after all. He'd never seen one of those. Ever.
That and he did want to get to know Annabelle a little more. She was a very...interesting person. Hopefully she thought the same of him. He could just read her mind and find out but what'd be the fun in that? Mystery is what makes life so intriguing after all.

Annabelle had gotten up and thrown her trash away and put away her tray and returned back to the table. She listeed to Co'nor and smiled when he agreed to the proposition she had made. Finally, a chance to fly... Her face had lit up with a smile that she'd not had in a long time.
Co'nor seemed different than some of the other heroes she had met. Sure, he did brag a lot about his powers, but while the other superheroes would brag and brush her off because of her low rank, Co'nor instead thought that certain aspects were cool. He also treated her like an equal as well. And, the fact that he was a martian... Well that was awesome all on its own! He seemed... Ah, what was the word? Interesting? But that wasn't something she could tel him directly That would be weird!
"Oh... Um, no Crusador isn't in a stable! He's actually here..." She reached for one of her holsters and pulled out a small metallic ball, spinning it around in her hand. "See, Crusador's in this here ball. Now, let's go on and head outside, yeah? I can take a for a ride and learn ya how to ride yerself, yeah?" She got up and grabbed his arm, starting to lead him out of the cafeteria.
She stopped and turned to look over at him. "A-also, erm... I'm not exactly sure how to put this, but uh... You're interestin'. I think we're gonna be great friends!" She looked away, a slight blush on her face. Interesting sounded weird, but it was the only word she could think of...

◄ IT'S TAKING IT'S TOLL ON ME. I HOPE FOR A MIRACLE. The boy's eyes widened at the girl's statement about him for two reasons. One, she actually thought that he was interesting and two, she had used the exact same word to describe him. It was as if she was reading his mind. But hearing what the girl said only made him want to confess about his interest in her too. So, with a light pink blush that started to emerge on the cheeks of his face, he opened his mouth and spoke as he averted his crystal blue eyes. "I think that you're interesting too, Annabelle."He then flashed that warm smile of his yet again as he continued to speak, "And I completely agree with you. We are going to be amazing friends!" Finishing his sentence, the Extra Terrestrial returned to a more standard position. "Anyway, you said Crusador's in a ball?" The black-haired Clil'agh interlocked his hands behind his head in a relaxing position. "I'd love to see how that one works!""And of course, I'd love to learn how to ride a horse such as one made out of Stardust! So go ahead and lead the way!", he said in a happy tone. Hopefully the whole interesting situation wouldn't make everything awkward. He kinda liked where this was headed.

Annabelle raised her hand and covered her mouth, laughing at the fact that he had called her interesting too. The smile remained on her face, and her eyes suddenly changed from their previous amber hue to a bit more of a soft blue. This was something that had happened while in cryostasis. Apparently, prolonged exposure to carbonite resulted in a change in pupil's color, as well as altering her hair's color. But, apart from that, she was still the same 24ish year old.
Annabelle nodded at Co'nor's remarks as she walked down the hall and headed outside. Upon arriving outside, she took a breath of the outside air and sighed. Nothing was quite like being outside, in her opinion. She turned her attention back to Co'nor. holding the ball in her hand.
"Well, Crusador is made out of stardust and basically laser components. So, he can squeeze into this ball on a smaller scale. When I throw it at just a certain angle, it triggers a mechanism and allows him to come out. Just watch very carefully..."
Annabelle took the ball and threw it in such a way that it curved towards the ground, and just before it would hit the ground, a small flash appeared and suddenly, the steed made of stardust popped out. He shined with a bit of red and pink, a tad semi-transparent, almost as though it was on fire. Annabelle quickly hopped on top and guided Crusador to Co'nor, offering her hand to him.
With a smile across her face, Annabelle asked, "Need any help getting on him, or do y think you can handle it?" She loved every opportunity she had to teach people how to ride horses. Considering the fact that Crusador wasn't even hot to the teach, but merely a tad bit warm, she was very confident that this wouldn't be bad for anybody to ride on. After all, it's not ever day that you ride on a horse made out of stardust! Phantom ,
