She does not care what the critics have to say, and while she claims to value the lives of the people of Kingsport, she tends to cause a lot of collateral damage. She believes that The Initiative is a waste of time, and that the heroes that join it are either to weak too fight on their own, or are just sell-outs. She may change her mind eventually, though. [attr="class","subcat"]biographical details Dot's life was actually remarkably normal. Parents who are actually alive, her school wasn't full of magical girls (though there was probably at least one hiding somewhere), and her house wasn't always being destroyed. She was living it up pretty nicely, because her mother was the CEO of a big pharma company, and meanwhile, her dad was an archaeologist. [break][break] Things got a little changed up when dot decided to accompany her dad on one of his digs. Things were going pretty well, though it was pretty risky to be taking a fifteen year old into the arctic circle. Ttill, she trudged on, keeping up pretty well with the other explorers. Her dad was proud. they got to the site, and got to work finding whatever they could find hidden in the hard, icy permafrost soil. They turned up nothing for several weeks. but that changed when a single item was discovered; a small, red, metal thing shaped like a pentagon, raised to a point in the middle, about the size of a computer mouse. It had no markings, no specific design that could be traced back to any culture. It was an oddity. Practically worthless, dot's father decided to let her keep it, as a souvenir. [break][break] Unfortunately, her dad would never realize the worth of what they had found. He died on the way back, having contracted pneumonia, and so far away from civilization, little could be done. Dot returned home somewhat devastated, and was the one to break the news to her mother. Who took it surprisingly well. Dot would later discover that her mother just wanted to sell the various artifacts her father had left them, some items so precious their price tags allowed them to reach even more exuberant levels of wealth. But dot was disgusted with her mother, knowing that her father would never part with those items. [break][break] Dot went back to school, but as crisis after crisis plagued the city, it became increasingly dangerous to go, until all of a sudden more and more heroes began to pop up. Dot revered them at first, but had come to hate corporations, which The Initiative was quickly becoming. she wanted real heroes that weren't just in it for a salary or to be treated like celebrities, and wondered how she could become something like that herself. [break][break] Dot got her answer when her own life was threatened. The day the artifact she carried showed off its true identity. Attacked by a huge monster, there were no heroes around to save her life. That was when the artifact began to glow with a bright green light, suddenly exploding into shape, taking her with it as it formed an eighty foot tall red mech. Not entirely sure what she was doing, suddenly piloting this thing, Dot managed to defeat the monster by sheer luck, or fighting spirit, or both. All dot knew was that her story had begun. It originates from a small red piece of metal, which Dot now has the ability of activating by will alone, transforming it into the eighty foot tall robot Maxim Rubeus. The mech is capable of a variety of things, listed below. [attr="class","subcat"]STRENGTH AND SPEED Despite being very large, MR is also very fast. About the equivalent of a heightened speed mutant scaled to eighty feet, MR can run up to 120 mph, and has reflexes that mirror those of a highly skilled boxer. Its strength is also immense, making it able to lift moderately sized apartment buildings (corner of the city block, four to five stories tall) without any strain on the mech's inner mechanisms. That said, the durability of the Maxim Rubeus is very high, easily able to take automatic fire, and even armor piercing rounds from anti-personnel vehicles such as tanks or jet fighters. MR tends to hold up very well against enemies its size, and even against bigger monsters such as kaiju. However, it does have a limit to how much punishment it can take, but this highly varies. [attr="class","subcat"]SELF-REPAIR The Maxim Rubeus is actually capable of repairing the damage it takes in battle, by absorbing energy from the environment. Electricity and heat are primary sources. The energy is pulled from sources, and is converted to the green form of energy that seems to power the mech. However, the self-repair process is not that quick, and is capable of being interrupted. The mech may also be overloaded, but this generally only happens when taking in electricity. [attr="class","subcat"]THE ARSENAL/ASCENSION The MR's power source does more than just heal battle damage. It also allows it to quickly reconfigure its weapons array, switching from offensive drill-arms to machine gun shoulder turrets to missile launchers to an immense sword or larger rocket-powered fists. Additionally, with excess power levels, the mech is capable of upgrading itself. It takes on larger forms with higher levels of strength and speed, the largest being nearly 400 feet tall. However, the MR can only take these forms for brief periods of time, usually only ten minutes apiece. The power needed to be absorbed to ascend to a new form is also intensely high, and nearly impossible reach without some highly powerful energy manipulator to provide the energy source. [attr="class","subcat"]FUSION By utilizing its ability to draw in ambient energy to repair itself and enhance itself, the Maxim also seems capable of creating a temporary bond with users of energy-based powers. This usually works by taking the other person into the cockpit, where they are offered a switch that begins the transformation. From there, the Maxim takes on a new form, usually changing in color or even shape, becoming larger or smaller, and overall becoming more like the super co-piloting the mech with Ace. Usually, a fusion makes the mech more powerful than both itself and the super, acting as a boost or supercharged version to their powers. However, fusions do not last long, usually around fifteen minutes of time. |
