Benedict is a good and faithful Catholic boy. He's been raised to be a polite dragon of compassion with a strong sense of honor and justice. He asserts his strong morals on other people, berating litterers and making a self-righteous speech about cheating. He easily forgives and empathizes. He’ll cry every time a horse gets butchered and gets emotional on the nightly telenovela dramas. He’s quick to encourage others and brighten their day with his sun-glaring optimism.

He cares for what people think of him. He’s self-aware enough to know that he is a kind-hearted person to others and wants to keep it that way. He never lies to the point of stupidity and really, being a superhero, there isn’t that much to hide anymore. He enjoys the transparency and takes pride in his accomplishments. Benedict always tries to give other people the benefit of doubt and is easily hurt when betrayed or lied to, even of the smallest secrets. He feels that his honest actions should at least be reciprocated.




+ On December 26 1998, the wealthy Santos family found a large, golden egg buried underneath their villa after an earthquake tore it apart. The egg hatced into a dragon and, after several days, that dragon turned into a boy.

+ The Santos family gave the boy a name and raised it as part of their household of two fathers, three brothers, two sisters, an uncle and a grandmother. Benedict was privy of his origin but his large family made him feel like he belonged. Even when his powers began to manifest, they remained open but vigilant, caring to his special needs and covering for him whenever he ran into trouble.

+ Although contented with the ordinary life, when news of the alien invasion reached them, brave ten-year-old Benedict decided to fly to the other side of the world and lend his powers to save the city and the world.

+ Benedict returned to his ordinary life until he turned seventeen whne he became convinced that protecting the planet was his calling. He moved out of their house, separating from his family for the first time, and is now living in Kingsport as part of the Initiative.

+ Since joining the Initiative, people have mistakenly thought his real name was Ryou. Benedict doesn't look like a Benedict.

Think Metamorphmagus. Through the magical nature of his species, Benedict can change his body at will. His current level of ability is limited to changing his appearance only - the color of his hair, the shape of his eyes, the fitness of his muscles, etcetera. He cannot morph into other creatures besides his dragon form.

Benedict's dragon form, the only form he has access to besides his human one, has the appearance of the European dragon: four-legged and flapping two wings behind his back. He is twenty meters tall (ie. size of Toruk from Avatar) with a wingspan of thirty-six meters. In his dragon form, Benedict can breathe out flames with the intensity of a volcano's magma and his scales protect him from most physical damage. He's a a pretty good tank.



Thanks to his heritage, Benedict heals faster than a normal human. He can recover from a stab wound in less than a day and mend broken bones in three. He also seems to have access to magic, but having no one to guide him, it simply manifests as some invisible force good for damaging public properties. This reacts to his emotions (thanks brain) and can hurt himself in the process (eg. headaches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness.) Other magic-related incidents include setting a forest in fire, freezing diet cola, and turning a centavo coin into gold.


He has nine black belts in Arnis, which means he's very good with that sword or baton of his. It's his backup plan since he can't transform into a dragon for the normal crimes.
