Dani likes her blood and guts, and her powers are perfect for getting down to the nitty gritty. She avoids killing when possible, but sometimes her opponents are silly and end up dying from shock or infection. She's learned not to sweat it too much and only feels bad for harming innocent bystanders. As long as the Initiative or any other powerful organization doesn't come knocking down her front door, it's like, chill. She's gotta do what she's gotta do to pay the bills.

Dani was four years old when Mr. and Mrs. Godinez of San Antonio arrived home and walked into a murder scene. They opened Dani's bedroom door expecting to see her playing with her favored Ms. Lara. They did not expect to see Dani playing while her babysitter was lying on the ground, dead as a doornail. A lumpy dark pool and a stain in the carpet was all that remained of her neck. Mr. Godinez screamed. Mrs. Godinez pulled out her phone to call 911. Dani dropped the toy she had been chewing on, startled by the commotion.

It was a breaking and entering case, the police ruled. Nothing else could explain the freak incident. It was an unresolved tragedy. A shame, but not uncommon.

One month later, the Godinez family was still trying to recover. Half of Ms. Lara's neck had been dissolved away! What sick bastard killed her? How had they gotten into their house?! Paranoia and fear had them shaken, though they tried to remain cheerful for Dani.

It had only been two months since the incident. A strange woman knocked on the door of the Godinez household, claiming to know the truth. She threatened to prove Dani a murderer if she wasn't put under special supervision. The disbelieving couple refused and hid her, but she was forcibly taken away before they could get her to safety.

Dani didn't remember much of what happened at the facility. Testing, she supposed. When she came of age, one of the scientists started homeschooling her. She was so heavily drugged during her stay that memories of her early childhood became a haze, including Ms. Lara and her parents. But she was a smart girl, and she wasn't the only one. Her peers destroyed the facility and broke everyone out, scattering across the world to avoid recapture. She soon learned that she had been very illegally detained, and that the government was doing nothing. The seedy underbelly of mutant experimentation was something they'd rather keep hush-hush, maybe even something they were involved with themselves.

She was eleven when she started hopping around shelters, city streets, and barns. Freed from suppressants, Dani started experimenting with her abilities. Acid generation, manipulation, and immunity. It became second nature to her; until one day her whole body turned into a bubbling mass and dissolved her clothing. Wanting to avoid another embarrassing situation, she quickly learned to keep it under control and steeled herself to whatever was coming her way. She had no idea what the physical consequences of her time at the facility were going to be.

Curious about Kingsport and wanting to settle down, she moved to Arkham at the age of sixteen and never looked back. Being around others like her was thrilling. There was always something to do. The Initiative and the Alliance could provide her protection and a community, but she had survived this long by herself; why stop now? She had her own apartment and paid her own bills. Arkham was the closest to true happiness she had ever felt.

Dani can secrete clear colored acid from her skin and freely manipulate it up to a ~50 square feet radius, as well as absorb it into her body. She reaches further distances by shooting or throwing acid at high speeds, building momentum within that radius. The acidity of acids can be adjusted by her, ranging from citric and vinegar levels to, well, she isn't sure what she can't corrode. She hasn't reached a limit to how much acid she can create either; she hasn't tested that out in fear of creating a flood and attracting attention.



Personally classified as being more inconvenient than useful, Dani is able to transform herself into a homogenous being of acid, taking on whatever form she desires, though she can't change how much space she occupies. She can control how acidic she is, but it's a hassle to alter her levels of acidity, not to mention the process of changing back and forth. It takes her a good fifteen minutes of concentration to shift from one form to another. Needless to say, she generally avoids using it. She doesn't have any clothing capable of surviving her stronger transformations.

She is still able to generate and manipulate acid. They are two distinctly different things; her acid body is a sickly looking, while the acid she generates is clear. If she returns to human form while her acid body is not fully intact, she will not be in one piece. On the other hand, she hypothetically can avoid dismemberment through the same method. It would be impossible for her to recover from a beheading or other fatal wounds since she would be unconscious/dead very quickly.


Small wounds like cuts and bruises heal within a day. Broken bones and deep burns can take up to two weeks. Internal damaging of her organs is harder for her to heal, depending on the severity. A visit to a hospital or an actual healer is generally necessary for more extreme injuries. She is as vulnerable to disease as any normal human being.

Escaping physical wounds is possible with transforming, but they can't heal while she's in that state and will still be there when she turns back.

While she can reattach lost limbs as mentioned above, it will not be properly healed and she still needs to seek urgent care.



Self explanatory. Her body is immune to corrosion by acids.



In her acidic form, she does not need to breathe oxygen. In her human form, she can withstand about an hour without it.



Dani is accustomed with street fighting and started taking MMA and self defense classes at sixteen. Using serqekinetic combat, she infuses acid manipulation with physical attacks and layers acid on her skin to ward off normal melee fighters. She's most familiar with small blades, particularly acid-laced throwing knives. Besides that, she knows the basics of shooting a gun and always has a can of mace.
