The bartender gives Ordric a curious expression when he asks for a glass of water. However, no questions are asked after he takes it upon himself to slide a generous tip over to them. Patrols and fieldwork were particularly mundane if something interesting wasn't happening, but on the other hand, that was likely in Kingsport's best of interests. If anything, the most exciting thing that happened today was climbing a tree to rescue someone's terrified cat from its branches. After everything was all said and done, all he wanted was a refreshing glass of water for a parched throat and to be left alone. The hustle and bustle of the evening crowd at Drew's was more than enough to blend in. It's too bad that he'd found a seat with comfy, open chair right next to him. MARIA

Maria wandered into a small little bar, it was rather nice. Many eyes were on him as he seemed to stand out due to his pretty face. Just dressed in his casual wear he wandered to a seat next to a young man. He sighed ordering a White Russian to drink as he yawned. Today was a rather long day, exhausting and dull. Little excitement went into today which was actually in a gross standing.
In a city of heroes, villains, and others, this place wasn't very lively.
Maria got his drink as he took it down sighing turning his head to a new soul drinking water. Conversation was a good thing, hopefully, it was more exciting then today was.
"Conversation would be good right now, don't you think?" he spoke in a soft voice "My name's Maria," he said smiling.

It is unfortunate that the seat next to Maria was empty. If it was taken, it was possible that the stranger addressing Ordric was talking to them and not him. But there is only air, so it would be impolite not to respond. He takes another gulp of water before responding with, "It's Ordric." Another pause, wondering if the response had been too abrasive. "I... perhaps, yes. I hadn't intended on finding any, but..." If anything, it's another opportunity to garner more intel. More allies was never a bad thing. But today's his day off. He can afford to relax a little. What to say to someone you just met at a bar though? Pause, then, "I didn't think it would be this crowded on a Tuesday evening."MARIA

"Nice to meet you, Ordric," Maria said with a pleasant smile. "Tis true, though, I wouldn't have expected it to be this packed on a day like this" he gave a small sigh, he liked this bar cause it was rather quaint and quiet. "But hey, it's good for the bar's business, it was like this yesterday too actually," he remembers, this bar was doing rather good lately which was really good.
Noticing his drink was water he raised his eyebrow a little. "Water? Not an alcohol type of person?" he questioned.

"Crowded on a Monday night?" he asks. It was out of the ordinary, Ordric thinks to himself. On the other hand, it was the ideal place to spend an evening, forgetting even just momentarily that it was the start of the weekly grind. He offers Maria a sheepish expression. "Not quite. Never particularly cared for it." He'd never particularly developed a taste for it, but what bothered him the most was how it dulled the senses. Handy in some contexts, but for the most part, not so much. Either way, it was imperative for him to keep his mood stable to also keep his powers under control. Water helped with that; the alcohol did not. "I... suppose it is a bit strange to find myself here drinking water though."MARIA

Maria looked at the man's drink then back at him. "Hey no pressure man," he spoke with a small smile. He didn't mean to come off as aggressive or anything. "Sorry, if I came off a stern." it was true, though, a bit out of the ordinary, usually a bar is where you come to drink alcohol, not really water, but hey! He wasn't judging.
Alcohol wasn't even that great, Maria only did it for quiet moments. He drank when there was nothing to do, not really out of habit, only cause he felt bored and wanted a simple hit. Normally this routine was going well for him currently, he enjoyed it.
"So how are you enjoying the bar? This your first time here?"
