[attr="class","textie"]Ah, Dunwich Park, the green center of an otherwise gold-and-polished marble part of town. It was a place that often saw well-off, pompous teens playing sports for leisure, and occasionally, their parents joined them for an incredibly fancy picnic or brunch. It was never a real picnic though, they always had it inside the nearby banquet hall. Sometimes, though, like all parts of Kingsport, Dunwich park saw intense super-on-monster combat. Today was one of those days.[break][break]

In one corner stood an immense, one-hundred foot tall behemoth, which some news stations were dubbing The Legendary Lizard. The giant monster (some may call it a kaiju) looked like a cross between a bearded dragon and the king of monsters himself, Godzilla. It bared its fangs, a hissing growl escaping past its lips that managed to shake the trees of the park. However, it was backing up, up against the huge set of stairs that led up into Windsor, the even more affluent area of Kingsport. Seemingly threatened, its frill flared out, and its eyes narrowed as its opponent came into view across the park.[break][break]

Thus entered the vigilante Ace Maxim! No one knew the true identity of the crimson defender, but many stared in awe as the giant, eighty foot tallred robot walked upon the hill that looked over Dunwich Park. Its appearance in Kingsport had been mysterious, having only been sighted a handful of times before now, but wherever it came from, or whatever it was, its pilot seemed to have an unbreakable fighting spirit- and temper. Dot Verity, the girl who called herself Ace Maxim, had taken to fighting giant monsters as often as possible, thinking it was the best use of her time ever since she'd found her mech, which she'd named Maxim Rubeus, for its ruddy color. She was always wanting to flaunt her knowledge of Latin.[break][break]

The mech suddenly broke into a heroic pose, pointing a huge finger at The Legendary Lizard, the robot's mouth seeming to move as its pilot spoke. "Prepare to get your butt kicked, monster freak!" it shouted, sounding somewhat feminine, but highly distorted nonetheless. The monster didn't seem like it understood the threat towards its posterior, but it was clearly angry anyways. It promptly roared loudly at Ace Maxim, starting to charge, people on the ground scattering in the beast's wake. The Maxim Rubeus grinned, and prepared for an intense battle, it's left fist transforming into a huge drill.[break][break]
