It was false modesty; Alice had yet to see someone manipulate information across the Internet as well as she did--- perhaps because she had not yet caused enough trouble for the Initiative people to pull out their own technopaths. Still, being praised for what she was good at--- even though she somewhat died to be good at it--- was something that made the girl just a bit more gleeful than normal.
