HAESSA The Haessa was a drifting alien race that migrated into the Milky Way from the Xoth System. They were formerly ruled by a council of templars until Vanoahrt overthrew them and became leader of the race. They settled down on Fomalhaut and co-existed with them by sharing their technology.
The Haessa appear robotic much like the Protoss in Starcraft and possess psychic powers. They communicate through telepathy and their minds are often open for reading. Despite this, they have a limited range of emotions, having little attachments and making cold, calculative decisions based on logic and not feelings. They have a precision for words, considering words like "love" to be too vague that it's obsolete. Those that are too emotional are considered abnormal in their society.
The souls of the Haessa possess a special quiddity that, when combined with their alchemy, can grant life energy such as the Haessa stone, which, when swallowed, gives a limited form of immortality. As it involves killing among the race, it is considered as a taboo. Vanoahrt is the only known creature who have breached this.
Survival had always been the interest of the Haessa. Before settling down in Fomalhaut, they plundered lesser civilizations and attacked spaceships, acting similar to space pirates.

FOMALHAUT The Fomalhaut are a race of trolls similar to the trolls of Warcraft by Blizzard. They are tall, hunchbacked, blue and green-skinned, red-eyed, three-fingered, long-eared and have protruding tusks in their mouth. They live in a small star of the same name. Compared to Earth, the planet Fomalhaut lacked natural resources but they possessed a level of technology that allowed them to thrive despite their limited resources. They co-existed with the Haessa, who have shared to them their Xoth-level of technology, allowing them to progress even more.
Despite the fearsome, brute-like appearance of the Fomalhaut, they are very intelligent with their general population possessing IQ equivalent to a prodigy in human society. They are skilled tacticians and engineers as well as warriors wielding light sabers and high-tech laser guns.
The Fomalhaut society is tight-knit. Their concept of family includes an entire community ranging from fifty to hundreds. They are very vindictive to enemies that harm their brothers and sisters. It is not unusual for communities to go to war at each other when blood is spilled, accidentally or not (think human mafias.)
