Between everything that happened in his life, Jack found time for himself. These moments were hard to come by, but whenever they did, Jack was content to enjoy them. Recently, he’d come across a copy of a comic he’d never paid much attention to. Someone had left it behind on the bus. Jack brought it home, found it an interesting read, and was currently toting it around as he tried to wrap his mind around the scheming going on in the stories. The art style hadn’t started out as Jack’s cup of tea, but it had grown on him as he read. Which was a good thing, because Jack didn’t know if he could continue reading a comic with an art style he didn’t like. He flipped the issue shut as his bus arrived at the stop. He boarded the bus with the copy in hand, found an empty seat next to a lady, and took it. And back to re-reading the comic he went. katakana

Claire was busy staring out the window and writing things down in her notepad that she always carried around. That was one of the few things she enjoyed about public transportation. It gave her time to think and act on what she was thinking about. The only downside was the fact that there were multiple people aboard the bus and that made her uncomfortable.
As the bus approached the stop and the few people got on, she didn't pay much attention to them. That is, until one of the passengers came aboard and sat down next to her. She didn't pay much mind to him at first, considering he was just another citizen to her, until she saw that he had a comic book. She chuckled and returned back to the idea that she had going on.
"Oh... Is that issue 21 of Unjust? That's one of my favorites... How are you enjoying it so far?" OF course it was a work by her. Then again, he probably didn't realize she was the author, considering she never really cared for book signing and whatnot. Perhaps this would be interesting... Talking about the comic to the kid. Perhaps she could get some good feedback...

" Unjust? This comic?" Jack was surprised to hear an adult take notice of the book he was reading. He braced himself for an imminent accusation: that children these days were only up to no good, and that they only wanted to while their time away doing useless things -- but he found none from the lady who sat next to him. "Oh, yes, uh," he stumbled over his words, having prepared for the worst and ended up getting the good instead. "I'm rereading it right now. I mean, I've read it once or twice, and I want the other issues too. I wanna figure out what Officer Johnson is going to do to sabotage his rivals, and like ..." He let his words trail off. "Well, I don't know if you've read it." He laughed, slightly. "Sorry for the rambling." katakana(( lemme know if i have to change anything about the story lol, i just made it up ))

Claire smiled and nodded her head. "I kind of have to read it. You always read when you write and draw, you know. I'm Claire Araki, the author. It's always nice to meet someone that deeply examines it like yourself. That was my favorite part of doing book tours. Everything else was absolutely horrible..."
She smiled and thought for a bit before looking over at the issue. "Always look to the past to predict what will happen in the future... Smart! That will definitely help you understand the upcoming arc I'm putting out. Sabotage plays a key role definitely. Well, pardon me, but I don't seem to know your name. Would you mind telling me?"
She was busy quickly drawing something on her notepad. a closer inspection would reveal that it was the boy's likeness on the page, followed by a few notes in Japanese kanji. It was easier to hide potential spoilers from the mainly English-speaking people of Kingsport.

Claire ... Araki. The name hadn't rung a bell, even as she introduced herself as the author -- wait a moment right there, back up a little. Jack let the fact sink in for a bit, and then blinked as it hit him. Oh, wow. Maybe he should ask for an autograph or something? Did he have a notebook on him? No, he could just have the comic book signed, but that's -- "Uh, I'm Jack," he said, still starstruck. What were the chances, right? She wasn't someone like Molly Madison with a gazillion followers on Twitter, but she was famous enough to have won herself a cult following. "Uh ... I'm not all caught up on the issues yet. This is my first copy, and um --" He shifted his gaze. "Do you mind signing this for me?" He held out the comic. katakana
