There are few that his blade spares, for Darius does not like to have innocent blood on his hands, but he will kill them if they stand in his way. Slaughter seems to be his main thought process. [attr="class","subcat"]biographical details Ruin used to be a man who was allowed to live a life like any other person. He was loved, and loved others. He was a police officer and was engaged to a beautiful woman named Clarissa. Clarissa was everything to Darius, and protecting her was his sole duty in life. He couldn't have been happier, but it wouldn't last.[break][break] It was a break-in. When Darius woke up, Clarissa wasn't in bed beside him. Armed with a bat, Darius stalked through the dark house- and downstairs, he found them. It was a demon, and it had killed her. He could see her blood on its teeth. How could this have happened? He did everything he could, and now, while he was asleep, his entire life had been ripped away, and he could do nothing about it. All he could do was get angry.[break][break] The moment he struck the demon across the skull, shattering its head along with the wooden bat, Darius was pulled out of normal reality, and into another. A hellish realm full of monsters like the one that killed Clarissa. Darius came to know the place as Underrealm, and for the first five years, he was a prisoner. Beaten, burned, tortured, they tried to break him. A foolish human who they decided they would toy with. It was the last time. Darius eventually broke free. What did it matter if he died, anyways? He had nothing.[break][break] Underrealm was vast, and Darius rampaged acrossed it. Darius became familiar with swordsmanship. He knew no better weapon with which to cleave those bastards in two. Darius was strong, and the Underrealm forced him to get stronger. The blades got bigger. Until, after so many years, Darius was not Darius any longer. The demons called him Ruin, beause when he found them, that's what he did to them. He mangled them, slaughtered them, all because they did the same to his psyche.[break][break] In the end, Underrealm could not contain Ruin. He found his own way out, reappearing in the human world twenty-five years after being imprisoned there. The monster was out, and so now what would he do? Ruin was cursed to be unable to ever die. This means that no matter how much damage he sustains in battle, he will always- eventually -recover from it. The curse acts as a healing factor, but however, it increases the pain felt during the healing process by tenfold. Ruin has grown accustomed to pain, but severe wounds can incapacitate him for some time. It's hard to fight without limbs, after all. Additionally, this curse also means that Ruin will stay at his current physical age for eternity. That said, a complete obliteration will send him back to the Underrealm, and he can take up to a week to return. [attr="class","subcat"]MARK OF THE SLAYER After years of constant battle, as well as demonic influence on his mind and body, Ruin has developed a superior battle sense. He intuitively knows his way around almost any battlefield, and also seems to have a natural sense of where a person's vital points are, regardless of whether they are human or not. As such this makes him a deadly opponent, because he has a natural insight into how to kill anyone. [attr="class","subcat"]RAGE WITHIN Another aspect of both the curse Ruin has been afflicted with and the demonic influence on his physiology, he harbors intense rage within him at pretty much any time. Rage pushes him onward, and it also empowers him. The angrier that Ruin is, the more strength and speed he seems to possess. His durability does not change, but the speed at which he heals does increase the angrier he is. However, it is more painful. [attr="class","subcat"]WEAPONRY Ruin doesn't carry all too much in terms of weaponry- mainly throwing knives and a dagger, as well as his sword. His sword is his most special weapon; a massive blade that is more than six feet long, and is more akin to a thick slab of iron than a sword. While still sharp like most swords, the blade is easily capable of killing men from the weight alone, being more than five hundred pounds, or so the rumors say. However, Ruin manages to wield it with ease. The blade has no special qualities, other than its size and durability, the blade capable of withstanding most anything thrown at it. It cannot be damaged, lest Ruin's opponent is capable of manipulating matter itself. |
