While many super heroes might use their 'Origin Story' as means to connect with the public and make themselves more appealing to the crowds, Ricki has always made sure to keep her "Origins" a secret. When the press pry, she will simply dismiss her powers awakening as nothing really spectacular. She just woke up one day and accidentally turned her room into a hole in the house. Of course, that's not really the case, but Ricki is not really willing to share the true story. It's on a need to know basis and if you don't already know, then you don't need to know.

So without the tragic back story to reel in the crowds, and despite the fact she has a power that would certainly elicit some degree of awe or fascination among the masses, Ricki is more well known for either being a highly dedicated teacher of many of the new heroes roaming the streets today, or her controversial side projects.

Due to the strength of her power, and a personal request from her, the Initiative Dispatchers only save Ricki, or The Keeper as is her code name, for rather extreme missions. Nuclear threats, super powerful villains, terrorist groups, direct attacks on Initiative itself, she never gets an easy job, but she's fine with that. With only hard jobs lined up for her, Ricki finds herself with a lot of time between tasks and that's when her true passion and work done for the Initiative can be seen. To make a living, Ricki acts as a trainer for the Heroes of Tomorrow firstly, and a hero herself secondly. She works at one of the Initiative Training Facilities and is actually the teacher of some of the newest heroes to hit the scene. With her power, she's able to get more close and personal with newbies with ease and effectively handle power outbursts far more efficiently than most. It's not an easy job, but it's one she loves very much.

But when she is not focused on her job as a teacher of the Heroes of Tomorrow, Ricki dedicates her free time to helping ex-villains and/or vigilantes of less than glorious reputations find their way onto the path of redemption. At her core, Ricki is a humanitarian and thoroughly believes in the idea that most people are capable of change for the better if given the chance. Following her own firm beliefs, time and time again, she offers this chance to anyone who expresses a desire to be better which tends to end with varying degrees of success and sometimes flat out failure. This personal side project of her's has caused Ricki trouble in the past, often times even having her get lectured by those in the Initiative and civilians that have been victims of the people she tries to help.

Many people have viewed her as being foolish or gullible for her dedication to this side project, but Ricki stands firm in her cause regardless. It doesn't always end well, and she accepts the fact that not everyone can be saved, but she'd be damned if she didn't at least try to save them first.

Nearly everything in existence has vectors, or magnitude and direction, and Ricki can manipulate those vectors with ease. The power itself is passive for the most part, actively reflecting the vectors of lethal or dangerous forces from her right back towards the source without her acknowledgment. When Ricki is actively manipulating the vectors, her control goes beyond simple deflections and becomes total manipulation of the movement of anything she touches - even seemingly stationary items can be sent flying by her touch. In the area around her, Ricki can cause a storm or create a calm refuge; making gravity intensify or weaken, make winds blow harshly or become a gentle breeze, make sounds louder or quieter, make the ground rumble with increased vibrations, or even redirect the flow of liquids she comes in contact with.

Now while it hasn't happened as often recently, Ricki's emotions can unintentionally effect the vectors around her as well, making her highly dangerous to approach during states of incredible distress. The vectors enter a naturally passive state that deflect nearly everything from her. A hand reaching out to gently touch her shoulder could result in a broken arm at the least, or total limb dismemberment at most. The vectors no longer just reflect anything approaching her towards the source, but in random directions of varying degrees of force. It's highly recommended to just give her space during times like this.

Finally, if the normal laws of physics are suddenly changed by reality being warped or Ricki being thrown into another dimension - until she learns the new rules - her powers are useless.



Energy beams, electric shocks, bullets, flying cars, nuclear bombs, Ricki can take it all without moving an inch. Her vectors allow Ricki to stand up against the strongest of forces without so much as flinching. By manipulating the vectors of what is sent at her, she can either redirect the forces any which way she wants, or stop the incoming forces entirely. If the laws of physics are changed, this defense easily fails until she learns the new laws. Alternate dimensions, and spatial warping can cause her a lot of trouble as well.



Ricki can adjust the velocity at which things move with the manipulation of the vectors influencing said things. She can turn small objects into lethal bullets simply with a flick or make tanks stop dead in their tracks. In fact, by reducing the amount of force and friction against her body, a simple step forward can allow Ricki to propel herself at high speeds in any which way. Keeping up with speedsters is easy when she can move as fast as them, though she doesn't function nearly as well as the naturally speedy do at high speeds. Her eyes can't keep up with the blur of the world around her, so moving fast - while useful - is not the most practical thing.



With the manipulation of the vectors she comes in contact with, Ricki is able to complete super human feats without breaking a sweat. Mostly because she cheats the system with how she does it. Lifting heavy objects becomes quite easy when you're forcing the vector of gravity to be lighter so the heavy object feels lighter than paper in your arms. With a tight focus on the vectors around her body, Ricki's punches or kicks may be fine on their own cause of her own physical strength, but when accompanied by her vectors, she can easily break through metal, concrete, trees, cars, windows, anything.



While she isn't going to be writing novels, and Ricki can't be bothered to dedicate her life to the pursuit of sciences and mathematics, she has a superior knowledge of science and math. She learns and understands new concepts quite quickly and is able to accurately complete long complex calculations in her mind at record breaking speeds. Faster than any calculator, Ricki has trained herself to crunch through numbers fast in order to get a sharper control of the vectors she manipulates around her.
