Look at this wiseguy. He's rambunctious and great at parties, but when it comes to responsibility, he's an absolute MESS. If something bad happens and he doesn't know how to handle it, he'll go into massive denial and either ignore it or pretend it never happened.

[break][break]If something makes him look bad, he's guaranteed to be dishonest about it. Every sentence he says will be curved and twisted in a way that makes it seem as innocent as possible. Also he's a loser.

[break][break] Silence makes him uncomfortable. He's frequently looking for things to keep him occupied, but directs his restlessness towards ways to goof off and fuck shit up. He's guaranteed to find a pun for every situation. It's a talent.

His ultimate goal is to become the trolliest hero in Jersey.




Years before we decided crocs with socks were a bad idea stems the origin of Forneus, a Marquis of Hell that could take the forms of both sea monsters and humans. Followers that pledged their loyalty to Forneus were gifted with incredible bouts of charisma. Humans could more easily persuade and charm Gods and Goddesses alike, and with Forneus's influence, potential crises of war could be averted with a knack for diplomacy.

It wouldn't be hard for someone with his gifted charisma to seduce Forneus himself. Thus, the human/sea demon descendants spread along various coastlines. It is extremely rare for Forneus's human descendants to transform into anything aquatic, and their gifts tend to be psychologically based.

• Born to Lee Kwon and Luella Mynn in New Jersey, both parents are mixed demon/human.
• Luella was pregnant with Danny in high school at age 17 and rejected Lee's marriage proposals.
• When Danny was born, his parents struggled to live together for the sake of Danny's well-being. When Danny was 5, they separated, with Luella urging Lee to care for Danny due to her low self-esteem as a mother.
• Danny grew up with his stern, politician father and unfortunately grew up to resent his mother due to the influence of his father's side of the family. Apparently she's a sinning hippie? He isn't too sure about the details, but he believes his dad.
• His father remarried when Danny was 14 and deep in a rebellious phase. His new step-mother was likeable and he listened to her, but his younger step-sister wouldn't open up to him. As a result, he constantly brought her into his pranking antics in an attempt to bring her out of her shell.
• Danny's gift of charisma came hand in hand with puberty. While he couldn't use his powers on himself to make friends, he constantly abused his powers on Amber to try and pick up cuties through her (which tended to fail because Danny SUCKS).
• During high school, Danny invested a lot of time in the school's drama club. He was considered something like a good luck charm for the actors, and tended to focus more on the audiovisual aspects himself. Met current roommate, Brook Styles, in the drama club.
• Post graduation, with all of the talk about superheroes, villains, and various organizations in the news, his father started to rely on Danny's powers when covering up shady incidents. Danny doesn't mind, since he believes his father when Lee says it's for the greater good.
• Currently Danny is a college student majoring in Marketing and is experimenting with using his powers through subliminal messaging in advertising. He does side jobs with the Initiative for boarding and cash. His roommate is Brook Styles.

Charisma Bestowal allows Danny to gift others with heightened likeability, persuasion, and possibly reputation as a result. People will find themselves drawn to charismatic characters as if something clicks just right with them.

[BREAK][break]The power is something Danny consciously activates, and with the roleplayer's permission, is triggered whenever a character makes eye contact with Danny and returns his smile with a smile of their own. Danny will never be able to use this gift on himself. He's tried with mirrors; the spell simply farts all over him.

[break][break]The gift can target one person for roughly an hour. The gift is limited by range. Someone on stage or across the room can easily be done as long as the two can spot each other in the crowd. Danny can turn off the gift to target another person at will.

[BREAK][break]Characters with psychic resistance or clairvoyance based powers may not be affected by Danny's powers. Characters that are naturally perceptive and observant might not fall for the influence of Danny's powers.

[break][break]Has unknown effects on robots and androids.



Danny, like his ancestor Forneus, can be felled by his own power. But he gets the hazy feeling that it's happening and will internally groan because god this happens all the time his powers always screw him over. It's a resistance that continues to build up over time and through related experiences.





A power that Danny can consciously activate as long as his target interacts with him. Communication Shift is something Danny can mentally change by imagining a dial on a radio. Depending on his chosen station, his target's ability to communicate, whether verbally or by gesture, can improve in fluency and expression or radically drop to cthulhu gibberish. With a negative communication shift, affected users struggle to match their gestures in context with their words. A positive communication shift can result in something like this, but maybe with less bears. Affected users may suddenly speak a different language, and while they understand themselves, won't be able to understand languages they aren't familiar with.

[break][break]Limited to one target, and the communication shift can't be used through technology without help. The effect can be turned off whenever Danny feels like it. It can be recasted if Danny is feeling well enough to do it, but his powers are mentally taxing. Headaches, dizzy spells, and general confusion are the lighter side effects.
