Artemis blinks. "Like...a cult?" She saw the signs. Apparently there were tiers, and there was some kind of monthly tribute involved. "Both" she shrugs. "I could operate a ballista if necessary."wildfire

That... wasn't an entirely incorrect description. "Not quite," Ordric says with the hint of a grin. "Range membership has its perks. If you come by frequently enough, it'll end up at a discount for you.""... I suppose it wouldn't be too different from what you already do, but that's the actual method that business is typically conducted here."Operating a ballista probably wasn't very helpful in this age. On the other hand, he is still impressed by how far back Artemis' memory goes. "Is that still a useful skill today?"artemis

A membership required her to show up regularly. Artemis loses interest already. "If I brought my own." Artemis pays obligatory homage to the modern world, but she feels no need to assimilate to it. If she wanted to shoot villains with a bow instead of a gun, then that's her business. If she drove a chariot instead of a car, that's her business. wildfire

Brought? "You... have a ballista?" On the other hand, the more Ordric considers it, the more plausible it becomes. Who knew where the Olympians hid their legendary weapons. They likely had their ways. A ballista seemed difficult to hide though. "What else do you know how to use?"No wonder arrogant mortals who challenged Artemis to a fight sometimes found themselves on the end of Artemis' spear. At that point, they kind of deserved it. artemis

If it's a long range, then Artemis probably knew how to use it. Most of the time she didn't bother, since humans were plenty killable with a bow. "Call of Duty."wildfire

"Call of Duty...?" To be fair, the game's primary gameplay revolved around aiming and firing. Ordric hadn't taken Artemis to be the kind of person to play Call of Duty though. "Not even Medal of Honor?"Now this was an interesting conversation. Civilization always found ways to entertain itself, and games had been around for almost as long as mankind. "I didn't know you played video games."artemis

"Medal of Honor isn't as responsive." She states simply. "Controllers are already clunky enough as it is."
Artemis shrugs. "Why would you think that?"Perhaps he thinks that she aged as human grandmothers did. wildfire

Artemis' comment about controllers fascinates Ordric. "What would be preferable to the controllers then?" he asks her, even though he suspects he may already know the answer. If not the controller, then perhaps Artemis preferred to utilize her own body instead. "You didn't come across as someone who played video games in their spare time. Is it a good change of pace for you?" He imagined that, as someone who had been alive for centuries, video games were relatively novel even if games themselves had existed for as long as civilization. artemis

"Game systems are portable." She shrugs. "I can bring a PSP onto a bus." Artemis pauses. "It's pretty fun when I lose at something." The game isn't as obnoxious about it as real people tend to be. wildfire
