perhaps quinn's defining trait is that they don't speak. at all. they were born mute and remain this way today, so they are naturally very expressive. their body language and facial expression is exaggerated and easy to read, and they get creative with movements as well. if necessary they carry a notepad around with them so they can scribble their words inside, though their handwriting is horrendous and hard to decipher. evidently their muteness isn't a barrier to them, though, and in fact they're quite happy to have an excuse to not speak. they find words to be awfully distracting and overly complicated.

as far as children go, they're a good one. growing up in cherry hill has taught them to appreciate the simple joys in life, and it shows. they are content with little and are very frugal. they have also learned to cling onto whatever scraps of hope they can salvage, and as such, they are quietly optimistic. compassionate, cheerful, and candid, they are always a pleasure to be around. despite their circumstances, they have no capacity to hate or be pitiful. it just isn't in their nature.

[break][break]but though they may seem like it, quinn isn't innocent. life is hard, and they know that damn well. even so, they have incredible spirit and perseverance, able to withstand even the harshest of circumstances. perhaps this is why host such a vast amount of latent power. speaking of power, they aren't sure what to make of theirs, seeing as it does them more trouble than good. but they go with the flow, make the best of it. they always do.



quinn's life was meant to be hard from the start. their single mother is barely able to scrape up the funds to pay the mafia for their security, and the rickety neighborhood they live in is a hotspot for dangerous activity. gunshots are heard. drugs are passed around. villains bully the inhabitants. occasionally things explode. but their mother had passed her perseverance down onto her only child, and so the two of them staked it out. it was hell, but at least they had each other.

and yet something was off. for as far back as they remember, they have always immense latent power. they didn't know why, or how. it was just there. they accepted it as part of themselves and their life. little by little, their potential came to light. abilities (which they began calling "skills" and naming individually) spontaneously activated at the most arbitrary of times. they could access a pool of skills that grew larger and larger with each passing moment, encompassing more and more powerful skills. they tried to keep tight control over it, but sometimes things went awry.

they hid it well, though. their mother despised metahumans with a passion, as all their life she had only known the ones who abused their powers. but quinn loved them--more specifically, they loved superheroes. they dreamed of becoming one and moving their mother and themselves into the initiative complex, where they could have a much better life. they dreamed of saving others. they dreamed of meeting other metahumans. their mother discouraged these dreams, though, being able to see the quagmire of corruption that shrouded the initiative. so for the sake of their mother, they kept quiet about their powers and was clever enough to cover them up whenever they randomly activated in front of her.

so it is. quinn's arsenal of skills continue to grow, and grow, and grow. when will it stop? what will they do with it? hell if they know.

well, it's not complete yet per se, not even close. at it's fullest potential, quinn has an endless number of abilities, covering every possible effect and countermeasure. they can use any existing power as well as those yet to be, as their complete power database includes all potential abilities. they have complete mastery and exhaustive knowledge of all of their abilities, (nature, effect, characteristics, strengths/weakness, etc.) including knowing which ones are best suited for every situation, all possible combos, and can use them flawlessly in any condition. they can instantly use and combine any number of them, often flooding their opponents with overwhelming torrents of highly efficient combinations.[break][break]however, quinn isn't quite at this level yet. as of currently they can only access a small pool of skills, and they're usually insignificant ones like having their skin turn green with yellow polka dots or creating a swarm of beetles on the other side of the world. everything else is locked. however, this pool is constantly growing in size and power. who knows, maybe soon they'll even gain a moderately useful skill!



quinn is a goddamn adorable little kid, and a very charming one at that. often they can break into the hearts of even the coldest of people. people tend to swoon over them the way they would over a fluffy puppy. but then again, some puppies kick puppy for sport. their charm doesn't work all the time.
