He suffers from a condition known as Reduced Affect Display, which is easily mistaken as apathy. Being the son of the Initiative’s CEO doesn’t help too, so the majority is very reluctant to casually approach him. [break][break] He is not void of emotions, simply unable to properly express it. Once someone’s able to come into terms with this, they’ll soon understand how simple he really is. Aiden is determined to fully realize what his father dreams for him, working hard on both his overall prowess and his professional reputation. This made him naturally competitive, which even expanded to trivial matters. Even that’s the case, he still answers to his inner child. He enjoys his brief escapes to the local cyber café or arcade salon. [break][break] There is one exception to his affliction, an emotion his father is also known for, which is anger. With the contrast of his metahuman ability, it’s generally accepted to assume he’s hot-headed. There are plenty ways to trigger this, but the easiest one is his inexperience and incompetence. His disappointment is basically coal for his fiery temper. Don’t mistake that he’s unable to calm himself. Just a like a volcano, he’ll only erupt when the time comes. [attr="class","subcat"]biographical details Several years ago, there was a mass kidnapping that occurred in New Jersey. It was an impressive crime that swooped more than a hundred children overnight. The perpetrators skillfully weaved their plot, managing to abscond under the proudest officials of the country. [break][break] Aiden was one of the children. They were taken to Colombia as test subjects for a crazed scientist obsessed with metahumans. For weeks, they were experimented on, trying to artificially create the most genetically advanced humans that’ll serve as soldiers for a villainous group. A lot had perished under the merciless process of the experiments. From chameleon-like abilities, to near impervious skin, the scientists toyed with their bodies with the variant of possibilities. Aiden was given the obsidian of the living flame, said to be a god’s organ. He suffered for a long time, burning in excruciating pain from the inside. [break][break] The third week came, and there were only five of them left. As if the masterminds weren’t deranged enough, they have decided to have a pit fight between the remaining subjects. They only wanted the best. [break][break] At this point, all hope was nearly lost. Fortunately, he was the son of the Initiative’s CEO. They called upon the best of the best to search for them(mainly Aiden), busting just in time before anything too extreme happened in their fight. The villains were deviously smart, but that also means they know when to back off from the fight. With the sacrifice of their crew, the people pulling the strings on this whole operation managed to escape. They were saved at least. [break][break] He didn’t return to the life of luxury with ease. The experience has scarred him, but didn’t ultimately break him. Aiden has decided to agree with his father’s plan for him. [break][break] Time to rewind. Several years ago, when he was twelve years old, his father decided on a very important matter. Like the god of the bible, he was willing to give up his only begotten son for the good of many. Aiden’s father told him of his plan, of how there’s an intensive project that could possibly last until the end of his life. It’s a program that would shape the best for the Initiative, their future’s last line of defense. Of course, this involved his schooling to be irregular and sacrifice a great deal of his childhood. Initially, Aiden declined because he envisioned conquering in a different way. His father respected his decision, but after what happened, Aiden brought it up again and requested to volunteer for it. [break][break] Ever since his commitment, he’s been training and learning from what Initiative has to offer. His father lets their scientist improve what was wrought to him. He still has a lot to go through, especially controlling his abilities. His hero name was given to him because he once burned through his own clothing while trying to convince everyone he's fine. It's derived from the schoolyard rhyme that goes "Liar, liar. Pants on fire." Like most metahumans or other mutants, he heals exponentially faster than the average human. It’s nothing too unreal though, as he still needs half the amount of time required to heal through injuries. [break][break] His strength and agility has been vastly improved, able to surpass the best athletes without any superpowers. His prowess is so immense that he has troubles controlling it at times. His strongest focused punch could easily enter mach speed from a standing point, but upon impact would render an arm injured and useless. [break] [attr="class","subcat"]Trained Combat Nothing too special either. He still has plenty to learn from the experts, but if an untrained street thug goes again him, he can beat them down without even having to use his ability. The base of his technique solely takes root from Krav Maga, a discipline taught to military units. [break] [attr="class","subcat"]Applied Gymnastics Parkour lessons and the other rather embarrassing sports have taught him a lot. He can swiftly pass through complicated obstacles with cat-like flexibility and reflexes. [break] [attr="class","subcat"]Kaiser Royalty Being the son of the CEO of the Initiative grants him luxury and powerful professional connections. While he does not have any authority yet, he has a good amount of wealth bestowed to him. [break][break] He doesn't always get what he wants though, since most of the Initiative's funds is for the heroes, research, and Earth's defenses. But that doesn't stop him from renting an entire villa for a party. [break] [attr="class","subcat"]The Living Flame The experiment has given him a gift that backfires too often than he likes. He can conjure flames from within, manipulating them in any way he wants. It is important to note though, the more intense the fire is, the harder it is for him to control. [break][break] A secondary effect of his mutation granted him the ability to manipulate or shape any lingering flame around him. Any fire he takes control over would also be converted into his own. [break][break] The Living Flame’s fire is slightly different compared to natural form of flames. It interacts with other energies as if it consumes it. For example if a magical projectile is shot towards Aiden, he can counter it with his own fireball. The fireball would then devour every ounce of energy in that spell, hence only empowering Aiden’s attack. He has no control in regards of this, which is why he tries to minimize its usage as much as possible. [break][break] His power can cause an ever growing collateral damage, requiring the firemen and some heroes to clean up any mess he would create. |
