Thalia pushed the...she supposed she was the other psychic back with one arm, ignoring the other woman's protests. He obviously hadn't taken well to having his mind gone through. She supposed she couldn't really blame him. She'd thought the other woman would just verify if he was telling the truth or not about having no memory, not scatter his entire life on the table like a deck of cards. It made her gut twist a little bit.
But regardless of whether it had been the right call or not, they could make that decisions--and suffer the consequences for it--later. What was important right now was bringing him into custody and making sure that this didn't happen again. She could still hear the businessman whining in the distance, like a shrill, persistent bee buzzing in her ear.
"And where are you planning to go?" she asked calmly.

ONE GIANT LEAP INTO THE RIFT [attr="class","bigboy"] Before Brandon could even address Thalia, he found himself on the recieving end of abuse from said business man whining about his car. "You realize how much money I lost on that thing?! $16,450 kid!" It was around this point that Brandon had simply had enough. He was being blamed for shit he didn't do, he was being taken into custody for 'his own good", this whole day was just turning out to be one big drag. It would seem that the business man in question had decided it was just a WONDERFUL idea to pick up a rock and try to throw it at Brandon.
That was his big mistake today kids.
Brandon threw out an arm to catch the thing, and probably toss it back at his dumb face, but instead, a...how do I put it. It's like a large magical barrier appeared right in front of Brandon. Which in turn, absorbed the blow. Suddenly a black, blue sparkling ball appeared in Brandon's hand, shaking uncontrollably. What was happening?! What had happened to him?!
Without any warning, Brandon let go, allowing the ball to produce the second explosion Justice Square had saw that day, although much smaller in scale, it was still enough to blow Brandon, the psychic and the businessman all back, with Brandon going very much far. By the time he got to his feet, there was no question on what he should do next.
So Brandon started running. The Initiative psychic was lucky that Thalia had stepped in front of her, because it was probably the only thing that saved her from having to show up to her dinner date with her husband bruised and bloody. The blast wave from the explosion hit Thalia and pushed harmlessly against her TK shield, shockwaves dissipating into nothing. Thalia's feet dug into the ground, digging furrows into the grass, as the atmosphere struggled to reform itself in the wake of the vacuum. Her hair fluttered a little in the resulting wind. That was about it.
The businessman wasn't so lucky. Much like his car a few minutes previously, he went tumbling. Thalia turned away to kneel by his side for a moment, checking his pulse and brushing some of the soot off his face, but there wasn't time for more than that. Leaving him to the ambulances and EMTs who had pulled up after being called in for the first explosion, Thalia took after the kid.
Not on foot, of course. There was no need to run when she could fly.

ONE GIANT LEAP INTO THE RIFT [attr="class","bigboy"] Now let it be said that Brandon didn't take track. Also keep in mind that he spent only a week in Jersey, with no knowledge on Kingsport. Yeah...musta looked like a chump and a half. But that's all he could do. Run and try to shake this...flying...woman.
...she can fly?
.....crap.
That was uh...not good. Like at all. Brandon couldn't stop however, he wouldn't allow himself to be caught like this. Among this chaotic goose chase, Brandon's mind began to think. He was stuck on another Earth, right? And there was a chance that Brandon's mother existed here, like a mirror version of herself. So, all he had to do was find mom's machine, wait for a rainy night with thunder, and BOOM! He could get back home!
Of course this was the current mindframe of a young man running for his life from a flying woman who was hellbent on "taking him in" so logic wasn't exactly on the forefront of his mind.
Eventually, Brandon found himself slowing down, having lost the woman in the crowd, hopefully anyway. It was a big city, with easily millions of people. So...what now?
Given that the sun was starting to set, it was perhaps better for Brandon to find a place to sleep for the night. But where? He had no money, no contacts, nothing. Well. Only one option left.
Brandon took a left into an alleyway complex, fairly empty too aside from a homeless person here and there. Eventually he found a decent enough corner that wasn't too dirty. So, he just sat down, and for the first time in god knows how many years, he actually cried himself to sleep. Maybe things would be better tomorrow. Maybe they won't. Either way, Brandon's bizarre adventure in Kingsport was only beginning.
