Being out at night comically wasn't his favorite time. Especially to gather information... well, all the less than savory characters came put at night. They usually had more to tell about their experiences with seedier people such as the villain he was looking for. However so far his inquiries were left unanswered. Kuro was quickly growing annoyed; how could those dumbasses not know about Yami? Didn't they know about superheroes? So they should know about their opposites. Were they protecting him? Kuro sorely hoped not. That would be a really silly decision.
It was 9:03 PM. He had been sleeping in a shit motel in Arkham with the savings from his step-father's account. The man knew how to invest and keep his funds locked. He only revealed the total sum when he was sure he was going to die. Now Kuro had all this money -- And he didn't even know what the hell to do with it. He glances at his watch: 9:10 PM. He needed to act fast but he was exhausted. The type of exhaustion that wouldn't go away with sleep. He needed closure.
He flops down on a sidewalk bench and glances around. All he saw anymore behind the masks of smiling civilians were murderers, rapists... cannibals. Desperately he wanted some relief. He needed it.

Maria didn't like Arkham very much if anything, he only visited to talk to maybe a few people that he met a few time and actually became relatively close to a few of the locals. Plus, he had a small business there, well, sorta. He would do small acts of magic in exchange for some money, tarot reading, palm reading, fortune telling, different types of magic, etc. It was a small little thing but he made decent money which he didn't mind, he lived on it.
Maria was walking around looking for a new place to set up house before he was stopped by a few people with money asking him for fortune telling. He smiled graciously as he tied his up and took the money and the two people revealed their palms for Maria to read.
Maria's eye's glowed a light blue as he started reading the man's future for him from what he was seeing. He did the other person as well and they were actually really happy with their reading. Maria smiled as they thanked him and decided to walk away discussing what they were told.

He hated Arkham. But he hated Kingsport even more. The whole place smelled like a cheap joke.
Regardless of his wallowing, he heard footsteps right through it and glanced up. His hair is disheveled and was growing longer, making it look like a black mop on his head, his bangs covering his eyes easily. He had been wearing the same clothes for a week -- looking at the pretty blonde reminded him he needed to find a steady job. And fast. Asking random people on the side of the road wasn't exactly his shtick.
He stands, resting both hands on his knees, meeting the eyes of the other blankly. Was this person male or female? He really didn't want to get this wrong and call them a man when they were a woman, and vice versa. It has happened before. It wasn't fun. "Hey you, pretty lady." He was just going to go with his gut; it told him that this person was most definitely a woman. Kuro was only 50% sure his gut was right, "Dont'cha think it's pretty dark out to be walkin' around? There's shady people out, y'know."
Quickly he adds, "Fuck. I promise you I ain't one of them crazy people though. Promise." Smooth, real smooth.

Maria looked at the man addressing him. "Pretty lady" was the first word he heard. "Hm?" he turned looking down at the man who was shorter than Maria. HE DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS POSSIBLE.
Maria cocked his eyebrow looking at the boy, really. "Well I can assure you, darling, I can take care of myself, rest assured." If anything Gotham was a shady place, but there was a certain charm about the place, he didn't know why but he did. The people weren't too bad anyway if anything it was lovely.
Maria was looking at the man, eyebrow still cocked if anything he was the shady character. "But thank you for your concern, so, am I certain you're not one of those 'crazy people' I should worry about?" he questioned to the man.

As soon as they met eyes, she looked down at him. Kuro visibly winced at that. He hated with people noticeably pointed out the fact he was lacking in the height department. His cheeks flush a rosy red, mostly because he always made an ass out of himself when he spoke to girls. He was going to try not to get tazed or smacked in the face with her purse... or worse. He had no idea what women were capable of their days. It was best to be safe than sorry.
"I'm sure you can, but you can't help a guy from getting worried, yeah? Chivalry and all that good stuff." He was the least gentlemanly guy on this fucked up planet, he was pretty sure, but he had seen enough domestic violence and crimes against females in his life. It was dark and scary out here. He was impressed at her audacity.
However, as she mentioned how would she be sure he wasn't a shady freakazoid out of the streets, he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, his tail wagging behind him energetically that conveyed he true emotion at the time. He hated his tail, too. It just reminded him of who he truly was: he father's son. "But I am looking for a pretty shady guy. A villain, you see." He begins to explain himself as he moves to stand beside her with a awkward smile on his grimy face, "His name is Yami. I'm sure a cute girl like you has been 'round the block a few times, have you heard of him?" It was best to get straight to the point ASAP but also a bit of flattery wouldn't hurt. Sometimes he got far kissing ass. He just hoped he would get smacked for this.
He holds out a calloused hand, unusually big for such a small guy. "Oh yeah, my name is Kenta. Or Kuro, call me whatever.

"Chivalry is dead darling," Maria spoke towards the man as he looked at the man's tail. He had. A tail. He had never seen a person with an actual dragon tail but he did see dragons. It's black coloration reminded him of someone very dear to him. Yami.
Maria, he found out what the man's true intentions were. He was closing into Maria as he looked down at the man, he was looking for someone and he could guess. But he heard the name he adored, Yami. And he looked at him, obviously, he knew something at the small eyebrow raise with a slightly concerned look.
"Cute girl hm?" he tried to revert his attention to something different other than the name. Seeing the man hold his hand as he reached out to shake it, feeling his rough hands on his soft skin was something he didn't rather like. Gave him great displeasure as it felt like jagged nails. "I'm Maria, or Lucatiel, pleasure to meet you."

He saw it, the slight shift in his expression. But he decides to ignore it for now and continue the small talk, however he pockets this useful information for later usage. Kuro smiles thinly -- chivalry was decaying, but it certainly was not dead. "That's a pretty negative outlook, but I can't say I disagree with you." He replies smoothly as he fit his own hand within her own and gave it a gentle, firm shake once before hesitantly breaking the close momentary physical contact between them. It made him nervous. What did she think about that? It was nothing good, probably. Wthout even noticing it Kuro was pretty damn sure he started off on the wrong foot.
"Uh, yeah, cute..." His voice become bashful, shoving both hands back into his coat pocket and running his fingertips over both concealed pistols on his inner pockets. Kuro wasn't sure why exactly but knowing he was armed helped relax him a little, "Has anyone told you that before? As gorgeous as you are, I bet you get told that a lot, huh?" He keeps his voice as level as he possibly can; which is hard considering that this woman -- Maria, probably thought he was flirting now when that was the least on his mind for tonight. Anxiously he grabs onto his club like tail and begins squeezing it.
The faster he could get this conversation over with, the faster he could get home. Maybe the glimmer of recognition in her eyes was simply a trick of his imagination? Even if so, Kuro felt the need to pry. "His name is Yami. Tsuchida Oniji. Black hair, ugly face?" He laughs at that, but it is forced just to lighten the mood.

Maria looked at the small man who was grabbing his tail. That was adorable. " I do, indeed." he responded to the man's comment as he went about naming the person he was to find. Yami. " And why are you looking for this person?" he spoke, curiosity on his lip's. He was generally interested in knowing the reason for this man's searching for him.
