[attr="class","top"] [attr="class","bottom"] about Bast is the Ancient Egyptian goddess of protection, family, dance, music, and love. Even with such a wide range of expertise, Bast is relatively unknown when matched up against deities like Ra, Osiris, Hathor, and Set (and don't even get started on all those Greek gods who decided to show up all of a sudden!). Ever since going public as a hero shortly after the 2008 invasion, Bast has become a much more prominent figure in Kingsport, and around the world–even though she's still waiting for someone to make her into an action figure. FRIENDS Bast is an ancient deity with powers that can be nothing short of terrifying. Some people go out of their way to avoid her as a result, but if they were to meet Bast they would discover that she is actually a very kind and friendly person. In fact, at times it seems that Bast has made it her personal mission to ensure that everyone has a friend. While she is sometimes absentminded or capricious, Bast does care deeply for her friends, and she'll do anything for them. Especially if they like cats... Most people Bast comes in contact with on a daily basis fit into this category, to be entirely honest. Even though she works for the Initiative, she doesn't hate vigilantes (in fact she might help them on occasion). Even light-oriented villains might be considered Bast's rivals, instead of her enemies. Perhaps they could be drinking buddies. Bast likes her some drinking buddies. ENEMIES Bast doesn't have many enemies, but those she does have will have earned her wrath. Basically anyone who takes advantage of innocent people or hurts those she cares about fit into this category. Be forewarned, once you become one of Bast's foes it is almost impossible to get back into her good graces. It isn't completely unheard of for a former foe to find redemption, but in all honesty if you've made things so bad that Bast considers you her enemy, she'd just as soon destroy you as look at you. LOVERS In her long life, Bast has had a number of lovers, most of them human (she has a special fondness for Earthlings, despite their flaws and general lack of longevity). Even with all that experience, Bast still approaches love with the wonder of a girl on her first date. Even so, she's not exactly innocent. Bast can be pretty flirty around people she's attracted to (she's heterosexual), but she does it all in hopes that she can find 'that special someone.' If Bast is in love, she will be every bit the devoted partner. She's actually very romantic and sweet! As a note, anyone who wants to get close to Bast must be fine with being touched. A lot. While Bast can appreciate small gifts, she tends to give (and receive) affection through physical contact, even if it's something as simple as holding hands. When Bast falls in love, she falls hard. Please don't try to take advantage of her; it will break her heart. (Or go ahead and do it; Bast could use an enemy with romantic ties to her past–an old flame, maybe, who betrayed her and went bad?) ulla

/o/ For Loooooove! But seriously, I'm very interested in maybe making a lovers plot between genesis and Bast . It would/could be like one of those opposites attract sort of thing, since due to the nature of Genesis, he has a hard time making friends, mainly because he's an unpolished Superhero (cause forget Superhero landings right?) and he has quite the mouth on him. Not to mention they're both old and I think it would be refreshing to have threads sharing old world experiences and such. Currently, Genesis doesn't have much enthusiasm for anything other than being a frat boy type, but I think with Bast in his life he could really start to expand his personality and become somewhat favorable to people, since ya know, love does things. And the best way to encourage growth is to be around people that help you grow.

I'm lazy so I'll do a post here with all three of my dudes trough this account--- L-Force is a robutt that's just starting to grow some emotions and thoughts for himself. For 6 months he's been running around Kingsport killing criminals no matter what the crime, mostly due to faulty programming. But recently he's started to drop that act, and maybe just meeting and listening to Bast would help him along a great deal. Senator is a grumpy old grandpa who just wants to keep Kingsport safe from hooligans and such. He's great company if you like to listen to the stories he has about the city, though. He's a bit lonely deep down, but he doesn't show it. And then there's Burning Man, a villain who wants to end the hero business. He absolutely hates heroes in all forms, and wants them to go and die. This mostly stems from an incident that burned his whole body. But maybe him and Bast could get along. Maybe. Or he might try and shoot her.

genesis I think Bast would like this! Since they've both been around for quite some time, they definitely could have had some shared experiences together. I'm actually wondering if they would already know each other (perhaps as mild acquaintances?) because they probably work together every so often at the Initiative. If you're curious about how their personalities would interact with each other, may I suggest that their first thread also be their first 'date'? Perhaps Gen-El's been feeling a bit bored recently, and figured he'd ask a certain friendly cat-goddess to go out with him? From there, we could just see how they interact. Personally, I'm pretty sure Bast would find Gen-El's sarcastic nature very amusing. I don't have a preference as to the actual location–whether Gen would want to go to the beach, a dance club, or maybe just a local watering hole, it's pretty much the same to me. That said, Bast would certainly appreciate the opportunity to show off her dancing skills. (Just as a warning–if they did go to a bar or something like that, Bast would probably be a little cautious at first because of her previous weakness to strong drinks. Of course, that'd quickly change once she actually started pouring them back...) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - Burning Man Oh dear. I'm pretty sure that Bast would like all of these folks, or at least find them interesting. There's potential in all of these, but I know that working three plots at a time (or more) can make things pretty busy. Of course, we could always do these in a series of sorts. Do you have a preference as to which character you'd like to meet Bast first? –Bast would be happy to talk to L-Force, especially if he's starting to move away from his old ways. Bast is a very forgiving little goddess and once she found out that L-Force's programming led to his previous misdeeds, she'd be even more willing to help him. Would he be the type to seek her out for assistance, or would Bast need to meet him somewhere? –Having Bast and Senator together could get really interesting. Bast is quite old herself, despite her youthful appearance, and so she'd probably be able to identify with the grumpy old man better than others in the new generation of heroes. At times, she'd probably display a wiser, more serious side of herself around the Senator that other people don't get to see very often. She'd be glad to listen to his stories, although she might find him more funny than not–her being much older and more experienced than him and all. Perhaps Senator might come to see Bast as a granddaughter of sorts? I can picture these two walking around Kingsport, when all of a sudden Senator starts in on some stories 'in his day' and Bast just grins and thinks, 'Oh boy, here we go again...' –Finally, putting Bast up against the Burning Man might be pretty funny, especially if B.M. doesn't know too much about who Bast is. For her part, Bast probably wouldn't take B.M. all that seriously at first–I feel like she'd call him 'Mummy Guy' just to annoy him. Most of his weaponry wouldn't do too much damage to her, which might come as a surprise to him. It would hurt, however, so Bast would be moving around, trying not to get hit. Well, those are my thoughts thus far. Let me know if you like anything in particular, or if you've got ideas of your own that I didn't touch on! Thanks!

BastI think it'd be best to do the Senator idea first, since it's the easiest one to execute. Maybe these two could meet trough handling some sort of mission together, and they decide to talk after that?

On mobile, and a bit shorthanded on time but I thought I'd go ahead and throw Isaac your way. Tell me what you think. If need be I can discuss a more affirmative plot when I get back but if you've something feel free to let me know. Bast

Sounds awesome! It's definitely worth assuming that they'd have had a run in sometime in the past. And Bast being as cute as she is, I doubt that just slipped Genesis' mind lol. But I'm totally digging the idea of a beach or dance club run, though I'm more hip to the idea of the dance club since I'm interested in seeing Bast on the dance floor. Heck, Genesis may break out some awe inspiring moves himself /o/. If you're cool with this, I could make the thread whenever .

Bast
Milady Bast! While Julia will probably be polite to most of the gods walking around, an actually comparably nice god would be really, really awesome. Soooo, yeah. They could be unfamiliar about the modern world together, do missions together, or just hang out--- although it would be mostly Julia trying to refuse but she gets dragged anyway and all she ends up refusing is the alcohol XD so, pretty fun times. What do you say?

Justitia Absolutely! Bast would be glad to get to know some of her fellow heroes (especially those who aren't quite so familiar with the modern world). I feel like any of the scenarios you mentioned would be a good way to put these two together, so do you have any preference as to how they should meet? It might be interesting to see how they work together on a mission, since both of them seem to like talking as they fight (although Bast is more of a joker in that regard).

Bast
I'm actually more interested in Bast forcing her to have fun since she's so stiff, hahaha. Well, but if you like the working a mission together, that could be fun, too! Julia's talking is more trying to convince the criminal to surrender compared to Bast's joking around, as you've pointed out. So, which shall we do, where do we do it, and who starts the thread? XD

Justitia Sorry for the wait, I think your first idea will work just fine! It could get pretty interesting if Bast has to get Justitia to relax and have fun for once. As far as the location goes, there are a couple of options that I can see, depending on what Justitia would be most in the mood for. If she's been working really hard lately (which it would sound like she has) then perhaps Bast could persuade her to take a little time off at the beach to relax. Sitting there peacefully could provide some interesting discussions between the two of them. What would be humorous (in my humble opinion) is if both of them are just sitting there enjoying themselves, when all of a sudden some small-time criminals show up, and they have to quickly get ready to fight. At least Bast would have plenty of sand to work with, even though she'd probably be pretty angry that some average crooks muscled in on their free time. Let me know what you think! I don't have a preference as to who starts the thread, but if you'd rather not post first then I can certainly do it. I'm just wondering where in Kingsport the beach would be, if we went with that scenario...

Bast: Heya, I've got Jack here. He's a student, but his life pretty much got shaken up by villainy recently and he's sort of sulking over it even though he didn't really get hurt. Having someone who's a hero and slightly more on the chill side would be a breath of fresh air for him. I figure a chat at the boardwalk area or something (that would be in general Miskatonic County) would be good to start them off? Also, I'm pretty sure he likes cats.
As a bonus, he also used to be Mehen before he reincarnated into something else. He protected Ra through his journey in the Underworld, and when his purpose was served, he reformed as a different being. You think they'd have met, or no? Maybe Bast heard about him through Ra ...
I also have grey, who's a vigilante. He doesn't do much in terms of slaying villains or defeating evil, but acts more like a man for hire who'd consider doing anything for the right price? As of now, he probably doesn't have much to do with the Initiative, but I figured they could just listen to music and end up drinking buddies or something.
idk if he likes cats, but I think in general he's chill with pretty much anything? So if it happens that Bast dropped by Grey's usual haunts to ask him if he wanted to go take down some criminals (after they're acquainted or smth), he's also down for that. lol

Bast
Eh, it's all right, I'm actually pretty slow at the moment. If it's a beach... well, I believe some other members have discussed already about beaches, and the result had been this thread here--- and the answer is it's slightly hard to find and it's actually more of a riverside thing than an oceanside thing, haha. And Bast will probably have her work cut out for her, since Julia has no idea what a beach is... and her only clothes are black dresses hahahaha. It'll probably be extra funny if some criminals ended up disturbing them... because Julia will be like 'Oh, this is much more familiar' and will actually be pretty happy even if she doesn't show it hahaha.
We can always think up something else fun to do, though!
