He didn't care about other people. The only person that mattered to him was Lonny. He was a Hero, or at least he worked for the Initiative, and the help that he was to them wasn't merely because of the nice check or the fact that if he hadn't he likely would have gone to prison along with his parents. Jakob wanted to make this place safer, he wanted the world to be safer, just for Lonny and whatever future they might have.
That view of his of course didn't arise until they met, and they had become an item of their own, but he didn't have as much of a will to even live before then honestly. Now he felt he had a real purpose, and if that was wrong he didn't want the latter. He was ever determined to make his goals a reality now more than ever though, and that meant keeping Lonny safe, living the rest of his life with him if he so wished it, and who knows what else after that.
As far as he was concerned, a part of his parents was still inherited in him. Jakob didn't do the awful things they did, but by blood surely he could turn bad. That was another reason he tried to hard to steer clear from their path, and even more so now that he was with Lonny. The only person's opinion that mattered to him was that of his lover, and even though Jakob thought negative things of himself too at times he knew especially with Lonny's words that he'd still support him regardless of the outcome.
He tilted his head while Lonny caressed his cheek in such a way, soothed by the touch of his kind hand. Only at his last words did he lift his eyes once more, surprised by them. Hate? That had not once ever crossed his mind, and he hoped that it had never come off of him to let Lonny think that he might. He straightened himself to properly look at him, leaning away, eyes focused on his partners features. After a moment of his pause, he wrapped his arms around the blonde, and pulled him in. Embracing him in a firm hug, Jakob hoped that he could help wish away all of those negative thoughts in his boyfriend. "I could never hate you." He muttered.
"You don't ruin anything, you always have made everything so much better." He was so happy that Lonny had said yes, so happy that he loved him and wanted to keep him too. "I don't care what anyone says. I love you, I want to marry you, and stay with you forever." He childishly finished, mostly trying to sound ridiculous if only to make his fiance laugh. He didn't like seeing him cry, thinking that he was upset by something he might do. He was so excited for their future, and he'd never been so inspired like this much before Lonny. Jakob released him from his firmer hold, leaning in to assault any part of him he could touch with his lips. Kissing his cheek, temple, jaw, ear, until he got to his neck and gave him kisses there too with an excessive amount of greedy nuzzling.

Lonny wasn't much aware just how much he inspired Jakob. He just knew that the boy was a hero before he met him. He had seen things in the news or papers about him before and the escapades he and his fellow heros had been on. So when he met him, chasing a villain as he had been that day and by chance, bumped into him? Well he hardly thought he was much a person to influence another really by just being there. Even if the influencing came after they got together. He didn't know he gave Jakob that much drive. As sweet as it was though, there were people out there that needed Jakob to make the world safe for them more than Lonny did. And it was for those reasons Lonny was so very proud of Jakob.
He'd find it sad too, if he knew just how unmotivated Jakob had been in life before meeting him. He wouldn't like the idea of that. Jakob was wonderful, it was something Lonny felt so deeply. He was wonderful and he could offer so much. He didn't know if it was him being just utterly love struck but he thought Jakob had such to offer, so much and he could do so much good and yeah. Lonny just had a lot of faith in Jakob. Especially now that he seemed to be working so hard. It wasn't even a thought in his mind that Jakob could possibly turn into someone horrible. Do something bad. He just couldn't even wrap his mind around it. Such was the faith Lonny had in Jakob.
As for as Jakob hating Lonny....that he didn't know. He just didn't. He knew Jakob loved him but honestly Lonny thought so little of himself that he felt like anything horrible could in fact happen to him and he couldn't complain. He just couldn't because he'd deserve it. He really deserved it as far as he believed but for the moment? He couldn't help but beg Jakob not to hate him because right now, in this moment he couldn't stand the thought and try to be strong on it. The man had just proposed to him, he was giving him the happiest thing he could ever dream about it and he swore he just...he couldn't handle the thought that Jakob might hate him once people started to pick apart his life. He felt ashamed of himself, for begging such things of him with the look he got from Jakob, making a soft sound as the boy suddenly let him go only to embrace him more firmly.
The blond slowly raised his arms to wrap them around Jakob, resting at his shoulder blades his fingers curled into the material of his shirt while Jakob assured him he couldn't hate him. How he hoped it were so. He so hoped. He didn't even realize he was crying again. Silent tears slipping from the corners of his eyes as "You give me such nice things." His love, his sweetness, his hand in marriage, his life. Such nice nice things and he closed his eyes as Jakob peppered kisses all along his face, unable to help the shiver when he reached his neck, kissing and nuzzling there as he did. "I can't wait to marry you." Lots of planning needed to be done, though for the moment Lonny would let himself worry about it later. Right now he just really wanted to curl up with Jakob, enjoy their time together and stop ruining it all. "You should magic us up to the room. With the sushi. So we can eat and cuddle in bed."

He could say with the utmost certainty that his words were true. He wouldn't make promises he didn't feel he could keep, and he hoped that Lonny would believe him, rely on his promises just a little. He simply loved him too much, more then he'd ever cared for anyone, and that meant something to the blonde.
As his boyfriend wrapped his arms around him in return, Jakob gently carded his fingers through the back of his hair. Those long soft strands he could now feel for years to come, the touch of his skin against his fingertips, Lonny's lips on his meshed with his. That made him happy, without a doubt. He'd give him nice things, and much more in the future. "You're special to me," He'd lulled against the nape of his neck. "I want you to have nice things."
He grinned so slightly, as he requested then for Jakob to whisp them away to his bedroom. That he could do, and anything else Lonny might want or need because he was here and he wanted to enjoy his time with him too. "I can." He replied, kissing his neck gently one last time before he leaned away and noticed then the tears that had been left in Lonny's eyes. His grin fell, a hand sneaking from the man's back to tenderly caress his cheek. "I love you, Lonny Gold."
Wiping the tears from his cheek with his thumb, Jakob kissed the boy on the forehead, and with his 'magic' lifted them both off of the floor until Jakob could stand on his feet and he had Lonny in his arms - in the cheesy but comfortable princess style. Glancing over at the plates they'd left on the table, Jakob didn't need anything but to know where they were before they were hovering above the counter tops and floating carefully passed Lonny and Jakob and heading up the stairs. "It's not really magic though. I can't pull animals out of hats." Although he might not have minded such an ability. He did like animals. "I wouldn't mind it though." Jakob muttered lastly and walked up the stairs where their food was waiting for them on the bed with his boyfriend in his arms still.

He smiled softly as Jakob told him he wanted to give him nice things. He didn't need nice things. He just needed Jakob and that was more that enough. More than he deserved. "You make me happiest. Promise." He murmured, trying to assure Jakob that he was all he needed. Subtly trying to talk him out of trying to buy him all the nice things in the world because Lonny knew if he allowed it Jakob would. He didn't want him to spend all his hard earned money on him. For their wedding...yeah he knew he would need help with that to make it at least some what really lovely for the both of them. But other wise? He didn't like being so spoiled when it was hard to return the favor for Jakob.
His smile only grew when he felt Jakob's lips spreading into a grin agaisnt his neck as he asked him to magic them up to his room. Of course he knew it wasn't magic per say, but Lonny was a silly creature if anything else, that was what he was around Jakob. "Perfect." He said, pleased though he knew Jakob would hardly turn him down on it. The blonde shivered lightly at the soft kiss recieved to his neck though he felt bad as he watched that smile fall when Jakob realized he had cried again. He leaned into his touch as he wiped them away, turning his head to press a kiss to the palm of his hand while he murmured that he loved him. "I love you too." He said just as softly and sweetly in return. His blue eyes closing as Jakob leaned in to press a kiss to his forehead. Best boyfriend, no Fiance. Best Fiance. Best ever.
The smaller man giggled lightly as Jakob scooped him up into his arms, his own wrapped loosely around Jacob's neck and shoulder, lips connecting with his jaw as he pressed soft affectionate kisses to the strong bone beneath soft skin. He gasped as Jakob corrected him, tipping his head back to give him a wide eyed look. "But. I thought I was dating a bonified magician. This just won't do. I told you, it only works for me if a man can pull colored little flags out of his mouth." Silly, absolutely silly he was being as Jakob walked them up after their floating plates, blue eyes looking toward the low set bed as they reached it. His room was small, low old wooden bed frame that often creaked like it was going to break at any given moment when every they moved around too much-cough rough as fuck sex cough cough- two matching night stands with a light and alarm clock on one, and a small frame with a smiling picture of him and Jakob on the other. A small closet and dresser and honestly it was all Lonny needed.

Jakob's fiance was a sensitive man, but he had always loved that about Lonny too. He was so much more expressive than Jakob. He'd always seen it as a good thing, even though seeing tears did hurt Jakob inside, his smiles and affections always made up for it ten fold. They were going to be happy, Jakob was going to make Lonny happy, together. That made his mood soar.
Jakob grinned faintly once more while Lonny gave affectionate kisses to his jaw, giving him cause to hold his fiance closer to his chest as if he could drop him but only so he could continue to recieve whatever kisses Lonny wanted to give. He frowned however, at Lonny's remark about flags coming out of ones mouth, imagining how strange that must feel. Worse yet, what if they caught on a piercing?
"That doesn't sound pleasant at all." He replied, "It could catch on a piercing." He'd leave the magic to the magicians in that case. Their plates rose from the mattress as Jakob reached the top of the stairs, so that once he got to the bed he could set Lonny down and crawl atop of it with him until they were snug and comfortable next to one another. He'd set the plates down then, leaning over to kiss Lonny's cheek and temple because he could't help it, as they rested on their laps with the larger platter on Lonny's nightstand.
He rested a hand on Lonny's thigh, secretly wishing he could hold his hand but not wanting to ask since he knew the man did need to eat too. He was fine with just this, content as he'd ever been in his entire life. He picked up his chopsticks and returned to munching on the rolls his kind, sweet boyfriend had made for him.

Some people might wonder why Lonny even bothered to try and keep joking with someone who ever took his jokes so literally most of the time but Lonny found it too endearing to stop rather than annoying. So as Jakob frowned he knew in that moment that he was taking him literally and what he said just after frowning only proved so. The smaller blonde giggled lightly. "It is a trick magicians do. But no, we wouldn't want that. You look very dashing with your piercings." Lonny agreed as they reached the top of the landing that opened up to his room.
Blue eyes followed the plates as they floated themselves over to the bed. Jakob had such an interesting ability. As he was set down on the bed Lonny crawled up to the top, leaning back against the pillows on the headboard he waited for Jakob to settle beside him, pleased with how close he was. Touching Jakob in any small way was always a most welcome thing and it only made him happier to feel the warm weight of Jakob's palm settling on his thigh as their plates returned to them.
"Best magician." Lonny chimed as Jakob kissed his cheek and temple, and balanced his plate in his lap before he reached to slip his hand under Jakob's and lace their fingers together. He looked up at him to give him a bright smile before he popped a piece of sushi into his mouth, leaning against the taller man and chattered with him between bites about his time with out him, amusing things that happened at the gallery and such like.
