It was just one more thing Lonny never thought he would do. It had been a few weeks since Jakob had proposed to him, something Lonny was still over the moon about even though he had to give him his engagement ring back to get resized. He thoroughly missed it. Silly right? When he only had it on for one day before he coughed it up because it was just too pretty for words and Jakob had been so terribly thoughtful in even getting him one. It did leave to question though, was Lonny supposed to get Jakob an engagement ring too? How on earth did men marry men? The procedure of it rather. Or maybe it was just that simple that one person always got the ring, the one who was being proposed to. He didn't know, and he felt a bit bad because even if he wanted to, he hardly had the money to get Jakob something as sweet as he had gotten him. He felt so terribly bad.
Either way he was feeling rather naked with out the thing despite that being so so silly, but with Jakob around he hardly had too much time to pout over it. Bet your buns he did at night though, laying curled up against a sleeping Jakob, on yes did he stare at his hand and pout. He had better things to do today than pout though. They had a wedding to begin to plan didn't they? And as much as Lonny absolutely hated that Jakob was going to be the one to fund it, he did so want to get married to the terribly sweet hero. He knew these things usually took a hell of a lot more time but Lonny was impatient and Jakob seemed to be as well so why not go small? There was no problem with small, a few close friends and such like, but still be able to keep it very classy? Elegant? He only wanted to get married once, or so he hoped. Hell he knew if he blew it with Jakob that no one would ever want to touch him. Who would? He was fucking filthy.
So...after a bit of a morning tussle Lonny managed to drag himself and Jakob from bed to get cleaned up, dressed, and out the door to you know, simply start looking around for ideas. Lonny had already been showering himself over wedding magazines and pintrest, such things like that for ideas, had started cutting out pictures while sitting in his fiance's lap and tried to get Jakob into it as much as possible...even if he seemed less interested in the design of the thing. It made Lonny frown a bit, but he guessed he was the artist of the two so maybe it was just to him it appealed to most? Or was Jakob getting cold feet? He didn't know. He hoped not. Really hoped.

He was happy as can be, there was no doubt about that. Even though he wasn't one for showing it, he had been smiling more often while he had been with his fiance. Seeing Lonny interested in making their wedding into a project made him happy too, validated his love. He knew the procedure of marriage as much as Lonny did, if not less. It may have appeared he was completely uninterested, but once Lonny began looking at things, asking him questions, he felt guilty not having an answer for them. Usually so indecisive he'd made a huge decision marrying Lonny, and that he did with great confidence, but picking the color of table cloths?....Whatever looked nice, he supposed.
He wasn't an artist, that side of him had certainly been reserved for Lonny to fill. It wasn't his thing, and all of the little details that went into all this planning admittedly overwhelmed him a little. He wanted it to be perfect for Lonny, so addmittedly he'd been leaving much of the decisions up to his partner. He didn't realize that was wrong, or that he should voice his opinions more, but honestly he didn't think that his opinions would make much sense anyway.
Keeping his phone on him in case he was needed for work, though he hoped that he wouldn't be bothered because frankly he liked spending time with Lonny, Jakob threw on a light jacket over his thin t-shirt, and headed out with his fiance attached to his hand. Once they were in town he idly scanned buildings, ignoring the occasional glances or the fact that he was holding his fiance's hand in public. He cared less even more now that he was getting married to the man, but if his partner wished him to keep his distance he would reluctantly oblige. "Where were we going again?" He spoke in his usual quiet, even tone. Forgetful Jakob as casual as ever despite how odd he felt wearing street clothes out in public during the day.
"Do we get to pick out food?" People still ate during wedding parties didn't they? That seemed fun, taste testing food. Jakob was honestly a typical male when you got down to it.

Lonny had noticed the smiles, he was so in love with those smiles. Well he was utterly in love with Jakob but his smiles were sweet, wonderful, and heart fluttering things. He wondered at times if this meant he was smiling more around other people and he was at odds with it. On one hand, good he should and people could see how sweet he actually was, but on the other side of the coin Lonny was so fucking greedy as to want to horde all those special smiles all for himself.
If his smiles were things to remain only for him and Jakob was in fact not getting cold feet. He couldn't help the thought. Maybe being together a year wasn't long enough. Had he pushed him to it? Honestly the only thing Lonny had ever done to prove to Jakob he was serious about him was giving him a key to his place and of course his utter devotion was a given. He had never once inquired or dropped a word about marriage. He had thought he was lucky enough to simply hold Jakob's tender affections. Lonny tried to tell himself though, that it just wasn't rational for Jakob to have second thoughts. Jakob loved him. He felt it every time his fiance looked at him, touched him, held his hand.
He had to keep trying to drill it in his head that he was simply the more artsy one and Jakob just wasn't that proactive with things. Still worrisome. But then where would Lonny Gold be? Who would he be with out being riddled with self doubt and terrible things clouding the edges of his mind? He pushed it aside at hearing Jakob's question, looking up at him with a small smile and there it was again. Second thoughts he didn't remember where they were going because he didn't care and--"Mmm a few places today." He answered, giving Jakob's hand a squeeze. He had...opted to hold it despite being in public. If it was what Jakob wanted, Lonny was trying. Even if he still did feel horrible at the idea of messing with Jakob's image.
He couldn't help but laugh softly as Jakob inquired about food. "Bottomless pit." Lonny teased before nodding, "Remember the few caterers I showed you? We are going to visit those. See if there is anything on the menu that strikes your fancy."

Jakob didn't know the extent of Lonny's worrying, his doubt in him. He'd feel terribly guilty if he did, wondering, as he always did, if he had done something wrong to let Lonny think that. He was well aware that he wasn't experienced in real relationships before Lonny, and this was certainly a step in their relationship that he wasn't used to, but he felt that his feelings were real, that he loved Lonny to the more than what marriage condoned. He wanted to keep him, for Lonny to be able to visit him if he were ever sick or injured. The legal ties that came with marriage of course crossing his mind too.
He was a paid hero, his work was dangerous, and he didn't ever wanted Lonny to be excluded from something dire - and vice versa - if either of them wanted to truly be there for one another. It was important to him, and not something he took lightly despite how suddenly he'd pulled money from his savings to buy his boyfriend the lovely ring he currently had being resized for him. He didn't need Lonny dropping hints or making him feel pressured, Jakob had been having these feelings for longer than a couple weeks, a few days.
Jakob released a slow yawn, tilting his head before he peeked down at his fiance. He liked that he squeezed his hand, even more that he was allowing him to hold it. It brought a small smile to his features, before he looked away tried not to act as sappy as he felt he was being over merely holding the boy's hand. "Whatever you like is good." He replied, because he utterly trusted Lonny, but that didn't mean he didn't want to taste test food. He was a simple creater in many ways.
"What about your friends? You'll invite them right?" He asked out of mere curiosity, but also because he wanted Lonny not to be afraid to invite people he truly wanted to attend. Jakob didn't talk to many of Lonny's friends, if any at all, and he felt a bit guilty for not doing so. Yes, it had mostly been so he could keep their relationship low key, but it still felt wrong. Jakob was greedy with Lonny two, and at times he hated the fact that Lonny spent most of his time around other people while he wasn't around. It nearly gave him reason to quit his job, even if doing so would be a terrible idea.

Of course, that right there just proved how much Jakob was better at all this than Lonny. If only those sort of thoughts ran through his head he'd feel awful. But then he always felt rather awful about himself. It wasn't anything Jakob was doing wrong though. Far from it really Jakob always did things so very right. He truly was the most wonderful person Lonny knew. He couldn't help his thoughts though. It was like a disease and he had long since been effected. Lonny simply tried his best not to show it.
Suppose for someone so smart either, it hadn't occurred to him the medical things that came with being married. Lonny perhaps was a bit mushier in just having gotten caught up in the fact that Jakob loved him so much that he wanted to share his life so completely with Lonny. Maybe it'd settle on in later, all the exact perks that came with being married to Jakob, but right now he was just in utter awe that he was getting married to the man, that he was going to get to call him his husband. That currently was the best thing ever to Lonny.
He enjoyed the small smile that was prompted upon the squeeze he gave him, Lonny's own meeting his though his was far brighter. He tried so fuckin hard to put all his worries aside with that one sweet little smile and usually it was a thing to make him feel better but as Jakob told him whatever he liked he felt himself wilt a bit. He didn't know if Jakob was simply trying to give him everything he could ever want or if it was just...not that interesting to him. Was he being silly or selfish? All the things ate at little bits of him as he tugged lightly at Jakob's hand. "It isn't all about what I like though, silly."
He sighed inwardly, a soft bit of breath exhaled as he looked forward, nearing the first cater, blue eyes glancing back at Jakob as he asked about his friends. Another soft smile curled at his lips. "Of course." He answered, pushing the door open to the place as they got to it. "I'm still trying to break it to them that I am marring the very handsome G. Rush." A soft laugh followed the words and once inside Lonny leaned up to press a soft kiss to the man's cheek. "Everyone is going to love you." He didn't know how they couldn't. His closest friends knew of course, but some not so. Lonny had always tried to be very careful about their relationship. "Excited?"

Of course he wanted Lonny to have everything he ever wanted. Jakob didn't celebrate things or coordinate parties before he'd met Lonny. Birthdays, holidays, they were just any other day to him before he'd gotten with the blonde who was so fond of at least cherishing special days together, especially those that he got off because of his fancy government job. He just didn't want to ruin anything for his fiance, which was another reason why he'd asked about his friends.
Jakob didn't have many of his own from the Initiative, if any at all. Lonny was sociable however, and filled that part of his personality that he so lacked. Despite how he'd mostly kept out of the way of Lonny and his friends, now that they were going to announce their relationship more officially he sort of wanted to meet his friends more properly. He'd never really shown that sort of interest before, but seeing Lonny's smile gave him hope that it was something he might like.
Jakob raised a brow at the blonde's compliment, but couldn't resist a smirk. To him Lonny was the handsome one, not him, but any attempts to argue would be met with rejection. He truly loved this man so much, and in that moment he couldn't help but look at him as if were the only person in the whole world. That is until they entered their first stop. He glanced over at the front counter, leaning closer to Lonny after he gave him that peck.
Was he excited? Yes, but he felt something else too. "Yes." He squeezed Lonny's hand affectionately. People were going to start asking him questions now, about what he liked what his favorite things were. He hated interviews and PR because he hated being asked a million questions. It made him nervous. "A little nervous." Jakob muttered too. "There going to ask me lots of questions, aren't they?"
He'd have to do his very best not to clam up and shut down, but for Lonny he'd do anything. Especially if he wanted to get laid later, and trust that all of this extra time with him was making Jakob a more needy fellow than usual.

Holidays were never something Lonny got to much celebrate. After he got away, gained his freedoms he stated to celebrate them with friends. It was wonderful. Lovely. More than he could ask for but now that he had Jakob? Oh yes. He loved celebrating with the other man. They were special moments he got to share with someone who was so amazingly special to him. Everything they got to do was special to Lonny honestly. They were his most treasured memories, things he sketched in his art books, wrote about next to the sketches, made notes about so that he could always have it to look back on.
If Jakob wanted to meet his friends though, all he had to do was ask and honestly Lonny really wanted him to meet them. He loved his friends too of course, they were just as important to him. They had been the ones to see him through some rather rough times before he found Jakob, before his world became more full and grounded. So it wasn't something at all far from Lonny's mind and he already had the idea to try and do a lunch or dinner or outing, something where Jakob could meet them...if he wanted to. Lonny thought Jakob needed more friends anyway. So he hoped he would want to.
It would indeed, be something to ignite a war. Jakob's handsomeness. Lonny was forever rooting on it. He didn't know how the boy could tell him he wasn't handsome. He was the most attractive man he had ever been graced to lay his sort of horrible eyes on. He could spend hours sketching, painting, Jakob. Hours lost to ever carefully crafted curve with the up most love and attention. He'd surely get to argue with him about it for always if they lasted. He really hoped they lasted. God he hoped they did.
He flushed some when he caught the look Jakob gave him. Never one to blush, but Jakob got it out of him from time to time. Especially if he were looking at him like he was right now. It warmed him to his very core being...and helped dissipate his worries for now. How could he allow himself to be riddled by doubt when Jakob was looking at him like that? He couldn't. Once inside, he smiled as Jakob told him he was excited, that too making him feel a little better but he did notice something off. Aaah. Nervous. He raised their joined hands to his lips next, brushing his lips over the tips of his fingers. "It will be okay. I promise." Lonny murmured warmly, lowering their hands from his lips as a woman appeared from behind a door behind the counter. "Aah Hello!" She chimed and Lonny smiled and greeted her in return, walking Jakob up with him to the counter while he told the lady they had an appointment to look over menus, discuss wedding planning. All that fun jazz.

He noticed that flush, and it made him small another one of his small bemused smiles. Jakob bent over so slightly, nuzzling his nose to the boy's temple before kissing him there, then on his cheek affectionately. Those doubts in Lonny's mind of them lasting, they would be dismissed in time. Jakob wasn't aware of them, but he certainly had no plans of going anywhere.
Jakob was working up the courage to plainly come out and say that he'd like to meet the blonde's friends. It was something that he wanted, feeling that it would be far more polite of him to do so before their wedding party and whatever else rather than the day of. It just seemed less awkward that way, though he was sure that Lonny was going to at least tell them soon if he hadn't already. Speaking of he was very curious if he had. It probably was less apparent considering his ring would take another day to be ready to pick up. He really wanted to see it on his fiance again.
As a woman presented herself, Jakob peeked over at her from still being close to Lonny's cheek before slowly righting himself so they could walk up to the counter and greet her back. "Do we get to try the food?" He spoke up when he got the chance. The one track mind returning full swing.

And again, like any other time Lonny got a smile aimed his way from Jakob, he fell for it all over. Swear to god he had never been such a mushy creature until Jakob stepped into his life. there had not been time for mush in the sin that he spun to try and tell a tail or romance or love that was not there. There was nothing real to the lies he told himself...as lies aren't real. He loved that smile as much as he loved the man who made it, and he managed to keep his mouth shut this time around. You know. On vocalizing just how much he loved that smile. Sometimes he couldn't help but tell him but sometimes he felt so silly saying it over and over again.
Lonny's smile turned into that of something sweet, happy, private despite the fact they were hardly anywhere you would consider private. He went from holding Jakob's hand to lacing their fingers as Jakob nuzzled his nose into his temple, making his feel so terribly warm and then the kiss he recieved to it just after had him wishing they weren't be proper adults trying to pull together a wedding. It made him wish he was home so he could curl up in Jakob's lap. Jakob made him want to turn into the laziest creature when he was around. That was for sure.
Ah but they were adults indeed and he had a wedding to plan, one he was still excited about of course but even excited the idea of simply snuggling up with Jakob was ever so tempting. So with the appearance of the woman Lonny had to jump to being an adult, fingers remaining laced between Jakob, missing the closeness of his fiance, his sweet and gentle affection immediately but he had plenty of time now did he not? To have any of it he could want? He looked forward to that. Blue eyes raised to his partner as he asked if they would get to try anything today. He couldn't help smiling, head turning as he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to Jakob's upper arm while the woman smiled apologetically. "Oh sorry sir, tastings are booked after a selection of what you might be interested in."
Lonny turned his head to give her his own sweet smile. "It is okay." Lonny assured her, giving Jakob's hand a squeeze. "Ah well then! How about your follow me back to my office and I'll start with getting us all something to drink. Do you prefer water? Soda? Tea?" she asked as she turned and beckoned them down a short hall and opened a door to nicely furnished sitting room with a desk toward the back wall.

There was no doubt that as soon as they were alone together again Jakob was going to take advantage of the situation and attach himself to the boy as if his life depended on it. Already holding his hand, it was good enough for now. They needed to be adults, make plans, and despite Jakob not being one to make many active decisions he was eager to be out with his fiance.
His smiles meant the world to Jakob, and as he felt him squeeze his hand, kiss his shoulder, he didn't feel as bad when the woman said that they weren't going to be taste testing food just yet. Though he did shrink a little, looking down at Lonny to see his sweet smile and gentle reassurance he told himself he'd be more patient.
Following the girl as they were guided to said office, his thumb brushed Lonny's while his eyes wondered the hall. It was cool and clean inside, much more comfortable than the heat outside. He didn't know how setting up menu's worked, but since he didn't have many friends, no family, he still felt he'd leave most of the deciding to Lonny. Most of their guests would be coming from him in the first place.
"Tea, please." Jakob requested politely, his usual most predictable answer, but he couldn't help what he favored. When they got to the room he wasn't sure if they were supposed to sit. He'd wait for Lonny to initiate that decision before following to take a seat beside him. If his chair wasn't close enough, he'd pull it closer via gravity manipulation.

The woman smiled as Jakob offered up his request, her warm gaze shifting to Lonny as he leaned in against Jakob, feeling safe to do so in the presence of a woman who could possibly help them arrange things with in their wedding. He had been doing good so far though, had he not? Holding Jakob's hand in public, sticking close. Things he hadn't ever allowed himself before now. The blond was trying though, because Jakob deserved it. He was trying to be less afraid of what people might say if Jakob was not worried. He couldn't help but worry though. It was truly the last thing Lonny wanted to do to Jakob, give him more bad press.
"I'll have tea as well please." Lonny answered and she smiled before waving them to sit, "please do make yourself comfortable. I will be back momentarily with your tea." She said with another smile and Lonny waited for her to leave before he glanced at the love seat that was surely meant for the couples to sit in because across from it was one single matching chair to the set that surely was for her to sit at. So carefully Lonny tugged Jakob along, walking between the space cleared for feet as there was a rather nice looking coffee table between the couch and the chair.
Once seated, he tugged Jakob lightly to do the same, his smile soft as he waited and once his Fiance was beside him, Lonny scooted closer, his temple coming to rest on Jakob's shoulder. He nuzzled at the spoke gently a moment before he tipped his head to look up at Jakob and slowly released his hand to wrap both his arms around the other man's waist. "I adore you." He murmured simply because he could and sat up some to press a kiss to his jaw.

Jakob noticed how close Lonny had been, and it did make him happy. He was sure that it might have been making him a little uncomfortable being out in the open, holding hands and such, but he wanted him to feel like there was nothing to hide anymore. His efforts didn't go unnoticed though, and Jakob would be sure to treat him for them later.
Satisfied with the woman's offer for tea, he let Lonny tug him along to sit beside him once they had stepped into the room with comfortable looking furniture. He had no idea how this meeting was going to go, how setting up a menu even worked, but he told himself as he sat beside Lonny that he would do his best to participate.
When he felt Lonny nuzzle his shoulder he pulled himself from his thoughts, glancing over at him just before he got that kiss to his jaw. He grinned, wrapping his arm over his shoulders to keep him close as he was. "What did I do?" He inquired curiously, uncertain if he'd done something to make him react that way - if only so he could do it more because Jakob was a glutton for Lonny's attention.
"You know, I think this planning thing is going to be easy." He leaned closer to his fiance to whisper to him while the woman wasn't here. Really he just wanted to make Lonny not feel worried that something might go wrong. Jakob wasn't going anywhere.

Honestly Lonny was sort of winging it and looking down checks to mark on a list of things he had gathered that needed doing from bridal magazine tips. Marriage was never something he had ever familiarized himself with as it was just not something he thought would be drawn for his hand of cards. He knew the essential things you needed to try and book right away however, the church or venue in which you were holding your wedding and or reception, the food, the cake, and the flowers. At least he hoped those were all the essentials need to be done right away. Maybe he should have looked into trying to talk to a wedding planner.
He tried not to overwhelm himself with thoughts of utter failure though, the blonde thought he had done rather well so far. Well he hoped he was doing well so far. But it would be nice to have help. Which was why he asked Jakob things and when he didn't get much reaction, well obviously it had been a bit disheartening. A little stressful. He just really did hope that this was what Jakob wanted. For the moment though he had managed to bog down his fears and worried. Just for the moment.
The grin he got in reward for his affections was something to send Lonny spinning and he couldn't help but smile widely back up at the other man as he wrapped an arm around his shoulder. Lonny raised a hand from Jakob's waist and cupped his cheek in it, thumb tracing tenderly back and forth over his fiance's skin. "I can't just shower my fiance in affection?" He asked playfully, "Should I sit on the other side of the couch then?" At this he stated to playfully pull away before he paused as Jakob only tugged him closer at the same time. He stopped his teasing and leaned right back into him, sitting up once more to press another kiss to his jaw. "Is that so? I feel as though I don't know what I'm doing half the time."

He was less worried than he had been before. It wasn't the wedding, but the sort of effects it might have for the public to know about them. More importantly bad people that might want to target either of them to get to the other. After speaking to his friend about it, he felt a bit more confident that his decisions were the correct ones. He didn't regret a thing.
"No." Jakob grumbled, keeping Lonny by him more insistently when he asked if he should move. He welcomed the affections, and the last thing he wanted was for the blonde to move. "It doesn't bother me." Of course it was the exact opposite, but it was obvious enough. Jakob was a glutton for Lonny's attention, and he was more than happy that he got to spend all this time with him now even if he found talking about actual plans less entertaining.
Jakob raised a hand from his shoulder, resting it on his head as he received another kiss to his jaw. His grin stayed thanks to that smile he got from Lonny. Jakob squeezed him lightly to his chest, "It doesn't matter if things aren't perfect." He assured, kissing the crown of his head before he went on. "I'm glad I get to be here. Even if I'm not good at making decisions, or speaking for myself, I'm glad I get to spend all this time with you."
That was the best part of all really.

It was certainly something to be concerned about, and it wasn't like Lonny hadn't thought about it. Obviously he had thought about the public backlash that reporters could come up with on him. But the fact that it would be known to people who wanted to hurt Jakob? Use Lonny to hurt him? Was it scary knowing that it could happen? It was. It was very much so but you could step outside and possibly get hit by a car that day too. Point being, Lonny didn't want to chance not being with Jakob just because what could happen because of that was a bit frightening. He had a sweet man, a terribly sweet and thoughtful man who wanted to be with him, that made him feel like maybe he was valuable st times. He didn't want to say no to that. He just hoped for the best and believed in Jakob to keep him safe.
Lonny laughed so softly as Jakob grumbled a "no," along with keeping a firm grip on him. He wondered sometimes if Jakob even knew he was teasing him? But then even if he didn't it was still terribly endearing how he reacted. "Alright then." He murmured, deciding not to tease him further...for the moment and leaned in against the other man, breathed him in and smiled lightly to himself. At being squeezed in against him, Lonny sighed softly, eyes closing as he lowered his hand from Jakob's cheek to rest it against his chest, thumb caressing over the spot it rested against.
Blue eyes opened slowly as he tipped his head upward some as Jakob told him it didn't matter if things weren't perfect, a small frown touched his lips because he wanted it to be so badly. It was their wedding, it was important and special and he only wanted to do it once hopefully and that once was going to be with Jakob. So he wanted it to be. "I want it to be perfect though." He pouted so slightly before giving a soft sigh to what Jakob had to say, it did put a smile back on his face though, making the pout give way. "So do you like helping me then?" He asked, unable to help doing so with Jakob talking about it. He leaned in a moment later to press a soft kiss to his jaw once more because at the very least, yes it was really nice to be spending so much time with Jakob.
It dawned on him in that moment though and before he could help it the question slipped from his lips, "Are we...are we going to live together? Once we are married?"
