There was something strange... in the neighborhood.
...okay, maybe she had no right to quote that, considering she's probably the same sort of being as the ones those people from that series fight... and, well, she was considerably strange herself, even by ghostly standards. Still...
...it began when she had decided to actually look around Gloucester... something she had been putting off for quite a long time. Knowing the map of the area didn't count; she had convinced herself that she should at least go through the general areas to have an idea how the place was arranged. Why had she been putting this off? Well... Gloucester has... a lot... of shops. Of food.
Food she can't eat, because she's dead and lacking a corporeal body. That was so unfair. Some of those ghosts in some media can still taste food, at least, and they can switch between solid and intangible. Why couldn't she do something like that? Or even if she could have a sense of taste in this form...
So, she was enduring her strictly professional learning tour of the place, when... well... she saw this guy. He looked a little crabby, and... there was a strange presence about him. Like... somehow... despite the crabby face, it felt like it would be a good idea to approach him. Something in her ethereal existence was being pulled, although it wasn't forcing her. Kind of like food to the gluttonous... erp, why did it have to be a food metaphor...
...ah, and other ghosts... she didn't see them usually... seemed to be moving towards him, too. So, this must be a ghost thing? Was he a ghost lure or something? Well, it seemed predictable to be lured in, but she was juuust a bit curious, so she approached as well, if not as closely as the other revenants.

The ghosts were following him around again.
Jesus, Mitch still couldn't understand what was so appealing about him. It sure wasn't his looks or his winning personality. Was it the fact that he could see them and they didn't have anyone else who could see them? Is that why they kept sticking to him like glue? Well, whatever their deal was, he was tired of the stalking ghosts behind him. This was one of the reasons why he had moved out at such a young age - his parents were losing sleep and energy because of these fuckers.
He shook his head clear of that particular nasty feeling. Whatever, he nor they didn't ask for this kind of life, but he'd have to live it anyway. If anything, this life taught him a lot about cherishing his time with his loved ones and to respect mortality. After all, he could be dead the next day -
Mitch narrowed his eyes at a particularly weird looking ghost. That one was definitely different from the other nondescript ghosts trailing behind him in that she seemed... colorful? He supposed that was a good word for her, since he never saw such a... neon colored ghost before.
Must be one of the freaky ones then. The bags of groceries hanging from his arms bumped against his side as Mitch started to speed-walk towards his apartment, which was a couple blocks away. He didn't have the energy nor time to deal with freaky ghosts today, nope.

The other ghosts were... well, while their company was rare, unless one knew which places to look for... they were quite the downer sort of company.
Sure, Alice could touch them, but they might as well be bouncy dummies or something, with dialogue that was dreadfully boring or sad or creepy or some combination of the above, usually on repeat. Even Shammy's handsome and colorful ghost was mute, instead.
Still, Alice joined their procession, at intervals bopping a couple of the ghosts' heads together for some slapstick. Probably rude to the dead, but hey, she was dead as well. Even as she floated around, she looked for some sign, some clue on why this particular guy was... wait, did he just look this way? He totally could see them, couldn't he?
...oh, he's picking up, and her fellow phantoms were too burdened by their regrets or something, probably, to keep the pace. She wasn't, though, and as the guy moved faster, she did so, breaking past the ectoplasmic throng. He could see her, right? That was that weird look a while ago... maybe he could hear her, too?
She waved, even as she chased him. "Heeeey~ you can see me, right?" She might've been a little too enthusiastic with her approach.

Thankfully, the procession of ghosts didn't follow Mitch when he sped up. Unfortunately, the colorful ghost caught notice of him and was now chasing him. So of course Mitch kicked it up a notch above speed-walking because who wouldn't freak out about a colorful ghost calling out to them and chasing them?? It was a wonder that he didn't scream outright (that would've been stupid anyway) or garner attention from the way he kept glancing behind him.
Oh shit oh god the ghost knew he could see her. She was even trying to get him to talk to her or something but not today. He had a nice fucking lunch to prepare at his nice (read: dingy) apartment and he was going to sleep off the rest of the day. He had plans! Mitch didn't have any room on his schedule to deal with a freaky ghost!! What was even stranger was that his charms weren't working on this ghost. Why was she chasing him??
"NOPE," he said loudly on the empty sidewalk. "I DON'T SEE ANYTHING. THAT VOICE MUST BE FROM MY IMAGINATION." Then, in a more normal volume to himself, he muttered, "Goddamn I need a nap."

"THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE WHAT SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T SEE OR HEAR ME WOULD SAY!" she said, just as loudly, as she continued to chase him.
Alice grinned. It was not a very encouraging sort of grin. She couldn't help it, she didn't exactly have mirrors that could give her her reflection, and so her grins have gotten a little big without anything to, erm, discipline them.
Alice did have plans. She was supposed to tour Gloucester, after all. But plans can be postponed! There was a person who could see her, and who could hear her, even if he seemed to be in a ridiculously large pool of denial about it. I mean, who doesn't want to be friends with a ghost? Well, the other ghosts did look particularly dreadful, but she was really colorful compared to them, right?
"PLEASE DON'T RUN AWAAAAY~" she screeched. The novelty of screaming when no one could hear her had worn out for Alice, so now there was novelty in screaming when someone could hear her. "OR ARE WE PLAYING TAG? TAG IS FUN!" Yes, she might be enjoying this a little too much.
As it was, though, she was not quite catching up with the ghostbait-dude, since they were moving at around the same pace--- well, she didn't exactly have muscles to get tired, so there was that, but she wasn't patient enough to use that perk. So, taking advantage of some street wiring, she entered one street lamp and appeared out of the other--- a street lamp just before her prey--- err, future friend.
"HI-- err, hi." she said. "So, I'm your imaginary friend now, huh?"

OH GOD. SHE KNEW. Mitch ran, uncaring if he was jostling around a few delicate food items too much because he really did not want the ghost to catch up to him. He was almost to his house now, it wasn't far. Oh god oh god the ghost was even having fun chasing him from the sounds of it. He dared to glance back and - Mitch really regretted glancing back because the ghost had a huge, creepy smile on her face as she screeched at him to play with her or something. Ha ha - no.
"HOLY SHIT!!" He screeched, yet again kicking his pace up another notch into a full-on sprint. "LEAVE ME ALONE, I HAVE NO MONEY!!"
(Okay give Mitch a break - he'd dealt with persistent ghosts of loan sharks one time. It was not a fun time to be had.) In his panic-induced frenzy to shake off the crazy colorful ghost, he had sped right past his apartment. Being the idiot that he was, Mitch looked back again to see that the ghost disappeared. He slowed down to a jog. "What the -"
But before he could make heads or tails of the strange situation, the colorful ghost from before popped out of the streetlamp right in front of him.
The scream he let out was undeniably high-pitched and girlish. Like, what the fuck? Since when the hell could ghosts do that? He stumbled back and shakily whipped out a charm. "S-stay back! Don't come any closer!"
Notes: the charm he has right now is like a ghost repellant but it won't affect alice much Electromancer

"...why would I want your money?" she asked. Well, she was dead, what could she use money for? And even if she needed money, she could always steal from them ATMs... bad thoughts, Alice, bad thoughts, go away. (Although she'd really need some way to carry the cash. Or just stick to virtual transactions.)
...well, the guy was... frankly terrified of her, which had been amusing at the start, but was starting to wear on her. Maybe she shouldn't have gone all out so soon. He was... pulling out something? Whatever that something was, it felt like it was pushing her... very slightly. It had an effect, but it was... very mild. "Is that supposed to be ghost-repellant? Because it's not very effective..." she shared. Well, she wasn't that aware that some anti-ghost measures were, well, not very good against her...
"Uh, I mean, sorry." she said, settling down. "I might have been too happy with someone being able to see me, haha. I come in peace? Although I guess that doesn't work as well for ghosts rather than aliens..."

Mitch glared at her, then at the charm in his hand, and decidedly let the charm slip out of his hand and flutter pathetically to the ground. He was miffed that the charm didn't work and even moreso when the ghost decided to calm down after scaring the literal bejesus out of him. And he felt exhausted after running how many blocks? His day had been rather (blessedly) uneventful until this particular ghost showed up.
"Well fuck." He said rather bluntly and scratched the back of his head irritatedly. "I was hoping that charm would work. Guess not."
He crossed his arms - groceries be damned at this point - and scowled at the ghost. "Well, to be honest? You're the first ghost to apologize for scaring the shit out of me." The scowl on his face lessened and the hardness in his eyes softened into something more like relief. "So I accept it, I guess." Mitch shrugged, his glare all but dissipating into a lazy look in his eyes. "Anyways, did you need something from me? Send a message to a loved one? Fulfill any lingering regrets?" Then he furrows his brow. "And how did you do that whole... electric-y thing?"

"Well, it kinda felt like something like a giant pillow pushing on me?" she supplied. "So I guess it was somewhat working. Just not enough to drive me away!"
"Oooh, thanks!" she said, cheerful that the boy she'd spooked had forgiven her. "Well, I don't really have... anything specific in mind..." she trailed off. "But you do those things? Is that why the other ghosts were following you? Are you some sort of ghost whisperer or something?" she inquired, one after the other. "I mean, I've met a ghost witch before, so a male version isn't too far off..." she muttered, mostly to herself. She really liked talking, specially when someone could hear her.
She did have lingering regrets, she supposed, but she doubted some guy who seemed to be just about her age could help her against a nebulous villain... well, there was the dragon who was about her age, but still. If not competence, this guy was a stranger, still. Well, she could do something about that...
"I'm kinda more unique than the usual ghost!" she said, literally brightening, the neon bits of her avatar being more neon-y than usual. "I'm an electric ghost, and my name is Alice! What's your name?" she introduced herself and railroaded the conversation at the same time.
