Leonel appears to be a happy-go-lucky, clever child. He is the occasional class clown, cracking jokes and witty remarks. Despite this facade, he is quite shy and prefers to listen to others talk than put himself in the limelight. He is insecure - as most people his age are - and feels like he's always lacked a personality and character. He's jealous of confident people his age and wants to be braver. He always strives to be someone better and greater, but is afraid of failing and hating himself for it. He lacks close friends, though there are a few who considers him their closest buddy, and only feels wholly accepted by Black Fang.

Leonel has a hard time opening to others, especially with his problems. He feels that his own issues are too trivial to share and are problems that are innate to him, that nothing others could say or do can change him. Most of his struggles are hidden and internal. He enjoys being of help to others to make himself feel better.



+ Leonel had a normal childhood. He has a little sister and two educators as parents. Leonel joined in different athletic clubs and participated in competitions, but always felt like he was lacking in everything he entered. He enjoyed reading and writing for himself. Despite this interest, he does not consider becoming an author or a teacher like his parents.

+ One summer, while out camping with his family, Leonel finds a pup he mistook as a dog. He adopted it and named it Black Fang after Jack London's character, White Fang, from the book of the same name. As it showed no sign of aggression, they didn't realize it was a wolf until it grew bigger after several months. They reported it to the authorities and, after a case in the court, were allowed to keep him.

+ Since Black Fang, Leonel had been experiencing skinchanging, especially during his dreams. He realized he had some sort of power, which he confided to his parents. When he got better control of them, he started skinchanging into Black Fang to take care of trouble in the streets.

+ Out of concern for Leonel's powers, Leonel's parents contacted a shaman in Kingsport to help train him. The family then moved into Sentinel Hill, where he secretly continued his vigilante actions.

+ Leonel is recruited in the vigilante organization, From The Shadows, where he finally got his own costume and code name.

Here's the wiki. With intensive focus, Leonel can enter the minds of creatures with brains and control their actions for a limited amount of time (max of 5 minutes with the exception of Black Fang) depending on their intelligence. Once Leonel takes control, only powerful psychic techniques and other related abilities can break free. Shock can forcefully kick Leonel out of the body either with emotional or physical trauma. If Leonel stays too long inside the mind of others, he may lose his sense of self and be unable to come back. If a bond exists with the creature, it is easier for Leonel to take control. Leonel can skinchange even without seeing the target but still being untrained in the art, he is limited to skinchanging into those within sight. He sometimes enters the minds of others in his dreams. At the moment, Leonel can only skinchange into one mind at a time.



Black Fang is Leonel's dire wolf, a large wolf the size of a pony, the last of his kind. Black Fang is an intelligent dire wolf that seems to understand human language. He can breathe out frigid ice breaths and has bites that cause instant frostbites. Because of his bond with Leonel, his mind can easily be entered and controlled.



He's still learning, okay? He can disarm a common thief and that's about it.
