He strives to obey the law and stay out of trouble the best that he can. He's easily spooked by supernatural or superhuman going-ons and prefers to stay behind the frontlines. Michael would probably freak out a little bit if someone threw a car anywhere near his general direction. [break][break] Unfortunately for him, he's also not the coward that he thinks he is. If something fucked up is going on right in front of his eyes, then Michael will try to diffuse the situation as best as he can. He doesn't enjoy seeing the strong bully the weak, even though he's prone to letting other people walk all over him. He suffers from low self esteem, but the normal kind. Not the martyr kind. [break][break] He has no grandiose delusions about his role in Kingsport's fate, but he wants to do the right thing when it does count. Even if he can't punch through a wall or throw thunderbolts, he has to believe that it's enough. [attr="class","subcat"]biographical details Michael's lived a relatively normal middle class life. His father is an accountant and his mother is a nurse at the general hospital. He has an older brother in the navy and an older sister studying in Germany. [break][break] His life would have been similarly unremarkable if not for one thing. He failed organic chemistry in his second year at Miskatonic and dropped out of the premed program. From there on he switched to business management. He was dragged to a frat party in senior year, and he somehow ended up with the connections to work for the Initiative. [break][break] It's not lucrative or glamorous to be filling out insurance claims all day, but it's a living. His superiors tell him that he's on the fast track to becoming a dispatcher soon, but for now Michael contents himself with helping those who help others.
