Being a ghost wasn't as glamorous as it was often made out to be, Alice thought, for the umpteenth time this week. She watched the people bustling around, and the vehicles speeding by, at this particular part of the junction, from her post on a traffic light.
It was dreadfully boring, with a great majority of the populace unable to see or hear you, and while gravity didn't have much of a hold on her she still hadn't quite learned how to fly. Well, she supposed most ghosts don't get to literally surf the internet and pass through electric cables and telephone lines and wireless signals.
Thanks, Dad.
Well, like she was saying, it was a perk, but there was only so much she could do online, and she was almost done with sightseeing, going from one computer to another in this metropolis in the blink of an eye. She could always randomly talk to someone on their smartphones, but usually they freak out when she did that...
...she had come here to Kingsport since it was the hub of superhero activity, or so she heard. True, the Initiative was here, and she didn't quite trust them, but maybe the opportunity to know more about her father and his possible enemies could be found here. Besides, she doubted the Initiative could entrap her without a good amount of effort, and she'd been lying low. Still, she thought she would help once in a while, when there were supervillains whose gimmicks were the sort she could counter...
...ah, would you look at that. Two giant mechas fighting. Causing gridlock, even.
Looks like something I could meddle with. Switching the traffic light to permanently red to warn people, she began to float down.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]It wasn't every day you got to be a hero, and pilot an immense mech, and fight the forces evil. Well, unless you were Ace Maxim. Usually it was a giant monster, but this time, Dot found herself combating another mech. It wasn't very similar to the Maxim, bearing some kind of military design- and in fact, it didn't seem to be piloted by a human at all. It looked to be controlled from a remote location- which would explain why Dot was giving it such a beating.[break][break]
Right now, the RC mech had been slammed into the side of a building. People all ran around frantically, as glass and concrete all fell to the ground beside them, and Ace did her best to keep anyone from getting hurt. RC took a swing with its crane-like arm, striking the Maxim hard across its metal jaw, sending it to the street below. RC took this opportunity to aim at the Maxim suddenly firing a barrage of missiles directed at the crimson mech. And it was a direct hit- the moment the warheads connected, orange light filled the eyes of any watchers, the explosion rattling the entire block.[break][break]
After a few moments, the smoke cleared, and the Maxim still stood, but it looked very battered. Pieces had fallen off. Much of the front of the mech was actually charred and burnt, some pieces even aflame. But, it wasn't over. The fire quickly went out, green light replacing it. In fact, a lot of light was dimming. Street lights went dimmer, green light flowing towards the Maxim. As more green light entered it, the damage the mech had sustained began to repair itself. Maxim pointed a finger at the RC robot. "Come at me, I can take whatever you've got-" Dot began, only to be cut off.[break][break]
This time, RC had rammed into the Maxim, and Ace barely had enough time to raise the mech's hands, slowing the charge of her opponent. The mechs slid across the asphalt, tearing it up under their feet as they went. Maxim got a good punch in, separating itself from RC, but the charge had done a number on the Maxim. Smoke billowed from it, and the green light could only come in so quickly to repair the damage. Ace Maxim was in danger.[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

...yeah, this ghost thing really can be bothersome at times. She'd managed to hop from traffic light to traffic light to get nearer the two giant robots fighting, but the rest of the way she would have to hoof it. Well, more like float it, but it was much the same, even if she didn't exactly use legs to do it.
There, she was close enough. Debris was falling everywhere, passing harmlessly through her, although the same could not be said for the other people nearby--- well, at least no one seemed to be terribly injured, which was lucky, since Alice really wasn't sure how she could help on that front. Just in case, though--- even if the relevant authorities were probably alerted already, she took a jump into an escaping civilian's mobile phone, and dialed the number for emergencies.
"Hello, what is your emergency---"
"Giant mech fight here at the Junction!" she said, manipulating the device for her to send a message that would sound as if someone was using the phone to call. "Near the... Cally-something gas station!" ...she couldn't read the rest of the sign since the two broke it already. Well, she hoped that was enough for the ambulances to be on their way. "Hurry!" Without waiting for the operator on the other side to react, she hung up and exited the device.
...she turned back to the scene of trouble. She wasn't really sure whether one of these mechs were supposed to be the good guys, or not... but eh, she'll just try to disable both of them. They're inconveniencing a lot of people by fighting on a major road, after all. She drifted closer even as the more military-looking mech crashed into the funkier-looking one. She came at the heels of the former.
Well, this one's closer---
She jumped in. She zipped through wires and with her touch she understood the titan's circuits, the titan's mechanisms. So this one isn't piloted... it's... remote-controlled... or something... ah, sheesh, it's going to attack the other one again. Fiddling with the controls, she made the robot punch itself instead. Haha!
...okay, probably should scramble the commanding signal next...

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]This was going extremely badly, up until the RC punched itself, instead of landing the killing blow like Dot thought it would. Sighing in relief, Dot stared at the other mech. That must have been a fluke. A wireless signal did not send properly- maybe the thing was in a bad spot. No, unlikely. It had functioned perfectly up until that moment, and all of a sudden it was acting erratically? It had to be an outside influence.[break][break]
Whatever it was, the Maxim had an opening. More green light poured into the mech, repairing it remarkably quickly, until it was back to normal. With more green light, the Maxim formed a mechanical sword in its right hand, and gripped it with its second hand. Dot smirked from within the cockpit of the Maxim, and plunged the yokes forward, causing the mech to dash towards RC at incredible speeds. The sword clashed hard with the RC, and...nothing happened. Dot blinked, wondering what that was. Then she looked, and saw that the other mech had some kind of force field, that surrounded its body entirely. Damn, she thought, it must have activated that seeing it was in danger...this wasn't good.[break][break]
Maxim hopped back, as RC tried to wrest control of itself from Alice. The controller of the mech, in his faraway little bunker, was freaking out, typing rapidly on his computer. He was trying to find the hacker, wondering how they could possibly have gotten in, and he raised every extra safeguard he had, trying to force Alice out. And, eventually, he did, the mech- almost painfully -spitting Alice out of its circuitry. This was serious high tech, and Alice wouldn't be able to get in anymore. Whatever advantage Alice and Maxim had in fighting this thing, it was lost now.[break][break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Frantically she tried to cut off the signal of the remote controlled mech, but it was no use--- perhaps she should have done that first instead of making the mech punch itself, but she could not have afforded to tilt the balance of power against one mech when she wasn't even sure if they were both villainous. She tried her best, but soon more and more safeguards piled up from where she was, more and more restrictions piled up, until she was forced to jump out rather than be squished by the various protocols.
She floated just on top of the military robot, catching her breath. What could she do now? She struggled to hang on, but that just might be difficult as the two adversaries clashed. She tried to get in, one more time, but the circuits of the thing rejected her--- whoever made this ugly monstrosity was thorough once he had been alerted. Perhaps, given time, she would be able to pry open the logical locks created--- but right now she only would be risking her life attempting it again. Well, not exactly life--- whatever her existence could be called at the moment.
Frustrated, she looked at the other, more aesthetically-appealing mecha. Her plan had been to deactivate this one and then deactivate the other--- but what good would deactivating that one now, if that would mean leaving this one running rampant? Even as she deliberated, time, and the opposing forces, did not quite wait for her. The military-make automaton charged, and Alice was flung from its shoulders.
"Ahhhh!"
...well, it was not like falling could hurt her anymore, considering she was dead, but it surprised her just the same--- and clambering for something to hold, she was thrown onto the other robot--- and accidentally went in.
...wait... this thing doesn't have any circuits? Or at least they don't look like circuits... and I can't fiddle with them... and there's... a girl? And she's looking at me? I'm not as invisible as expected?
"Um, hi." she sheepishly greeted. This was awkward. Well, what's done is done, right?

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]This wasn't going great- the sword would have done loads of damage, if not for that shield. It could possibly be broken with enough strikes, but the mech seemed to have control of itself now. It would be a dangerous game just trying to go ham on the other robot- it could just get the upper hand and pummel Ace yet again. This was going to be a game of smarts, Dot realized, and- what the?[break][break]
Dot was distracted from her rapid train of thought by another girl. She was on one of the screens that were Dot's eyes into the outside- but she wasn't outside. She was in the digital display. What was going on? Was she some kind of computer virus, that somehow infected her extremely high tech mecha from space? Dot was speechless, up until the moment that Alice wasn't. So the weird girl was a conscious being, not some pop-up ad. Okay, maybe they could work together? Whatever it was that this girl could do.[/[break][break]
"Uh...hi," Dot replied, staring strangely at Alice. At the same time that Alice had entered the mech, the light inside the cockpit changed from green to blue, and began to pulsate. Dot looked around, wondering what this was, but she had a guest to attend to. "Uhh. I'm...Ace Maxim. And I pilot this thing...and I don't think we really have time to talk right now! Hold on!" At that moment, the RC mech had come at them again, this time trying to hit the Maxim with some kind of battering ram. Dot was barely able to evade, sidestepping just in time to avoid taking a devastating blow to the chest. However, the Maxim did lose an entire arm. Might now be a good time to retreat and recuperate for a few moments.[break][break]
Dot, panicking, pulled back, taking a massive leap backwards and dashing down another street. Soon, the RC was out of view, but its footsteps could be heard gaining on them. Dot was breathing hard, but they were safe, for just a few moments. The blue light inside the cockpit of the Maxim was growing stronger, and Dot glanced down, seeing a panel with a screen had opened up in front of her. It had strange alien writing on it, and there was the highlighted outline of the Maxim on the screen. Next to the image of the Maxim, was the silhouette of a person- judging from the shape, a girl. Dot looked up. "I think you being in here has- activated something. What are you, anyways?" Apparently the other girl was just as surprised as she was. Double-checking her surroundings, she realized she was in a sort of display--- although she couldn't really fiddle with how it worked, she realized. Somehow, this whole technological marvel ran on something other than electricity--- and that in itself was much more marvelous than its appearance.
"Uh... so is Ace your first name and Maxim is your last or is that your code---" she said in reply, but was interrupted as the pilot's attention was directed towards the opposing robot making an attack, which took a whole arm from the mecha she was now inside in. Somehow, she was aware of the entirety of the mecha, but she could not necessarily control it... all? And something changed when she entered? Was it... reacting to her?
Anyway, she waited until they were safe--- well, technically speaking, she could probably survive this whole encounter by ejecting herself out of the robot, although she wasn't sure she could do that right now with how it was reacting to her... but even if it broke, she probably would stay alive... well, undead? But even if this person who looked almost just as old as her, or maybe even younger, was a villain, she probably didn't want her to die---
Okay, distance made, she could talk, and the pilot was asking stuff. "Ah, right, I haven't introduced myself! I'm Alice, the Electromancer! Your friendly neighborhood electric ghost!" she said hastily, since at any moment in time the opposing behemoth would probably catch up to them. "...although I cover more than the neighborhood, I guess. I was trying to break that robot but it booted me out and then I fell into your robot and I was going to break it since I didn't know if you were a villain and it doesn't look like I can break it anyway---" she paused to take a breath, even if she technically didn't need one anymore. "So, uh, you're not evil? And did what I say explain what the thingy does?"

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Alice was a ghost. Dot nodded, understandingly, then froze. A GHOST. Was Alice dead!? Ah, geez, the situations that Dot got herself into. Okay, she was a ghost- more specifically, she was an electric ghost. What did that mean? She was dead, and was like, a disembodied consciousness, held within the confines of pure electrical signals...?[break][break]
This was weird, but it gave Dot some insight into what was happening to the Maxim. Alice was...entirely composed of energy, and Dot knew that the mech drew on outside sources of energy to convert to its own power source. So maybe it was trying to take her in. But Alice couldn't be entirely absorbed, presumably because she was conscious. So what was this thing it was doing to the Maxim? Maybe it was some kind of auxiliary function. As Dot was mulling it over, the screen began flashing, and some kind of button appeared. Dot scratched her head, curious, and then pressed it. At the same time, a button would appear for Alice- and assuming she pressed it -what happened next was...new.[break][break]
Alice would suddenly be drawn into the cockpit, physically, as an entire new seat was created for her to sit in. Alice would find she even had a physical body, with which to grip the controls of the mech, which itself was...changing. Outside, blue light filled the air, as well as the sound of crackling electricity. The Maxim was surrounded by electricity, and the first thing that happened was that the arm that had been lost was suddenly repaired, coming back instantly. Next, the mech changed in color, to blue and black, growing twenty feet in height, the crest on its helmet replaced with backwards-facing blue lightning bolts. Huge black drills appeared on the shoulders of the Maxim, which began whirring slowly and crackling with raw blue power.[break][break]
In moments, the Maxim had transformed into a very sleek black mech with blue lightning tracing all over its body. Dot wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but had some internal sense of what was going on. "...Well, Alice, I don't know what you did, but it was totally awesome."[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

As she floated, a strange console appeared before her, much similar to what was before Ace. It had a button. Despite her best attempts, she could not force the workings of the robot to tell her what the button can do... so, of course, she pressed the button. Buttons were meant to be pressed, after all.
Then the mecha sought to flabbergast her in much the same way she had flabbergasted the pilot, beforehand. Suddenly she was not on the screen, but beside the pilot, on a seat of her own, and... she had a body. SHE HAD A BODY. SHE HAD LEGS. AND FEET. AND TOES. "AAAAAAH! I HAVE A BODY! AND LEGS! AND FEET! AND TOES!" We know, Alice, the narration said so already. Knowing her luck, this was probably a temporary thing, but she was really glad she pressed that button. Randomly, she leaned over from her seat towards Ace's seat, and hugged her. "Arms... for hugging... guuuu."
With a dose of willpower, she forced herself to be composed, since, well, the other mech was probably barrelling towards them at any moment. "I didn't know what I did!" she said. "But it's really awesome on this end too!" Turning to the controls she found them responding to her, which had not been the case before. Although... she had to touch them. On the other hand, she could touch them!
"You're not evil, right? Please don't be evil. I'd like to do this more often." Even as she chattered, their adversary advanced to their position, having found them, finally--- taking only a moment to assess the mecha's changed form, before charging forward. "Uwa, he's coming, he's coming!"
The military-type charged once again with its battering ram.. and intuitively, Alice activated one of the controls on her console. The enemy mech... passed through them. Like they were a ghost. Well, she was one, but still. It was a whole, humongous robot phasing through.
"Oooh, that's a thing." Time for a counter-attack?

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]"I'd like to think I'm not evil," Dot started, laughing a little at Alice's very clear excitement. She was glad that whatever this was made her so excited, but this was no time to sit around and laugh and cry and rejoice. They still had the other mech to take down, and it didn't even seem bothered about the transformation, charging right at them yet again. Dot was prepared to brace for an impact, but it never came- what happened. She looked behind her, seeing that the other mech had seemingly passed right through them. Oh, that was cool. Alright, she could totally work with this.[break][break]
A counter-attack was certainly in order. While the mech was currently processing that the Maxim had suddenly gained the ability to phase through, Dot took control of the mech, suddenly becoming tangible again. The Maxim whipped around, closing the gap created by the enemy mech, raising its fist and bringing down a punch that shook the buildings nearby. But it didn't even make RC tremble. Dot growled, the Maxim leaping back. The force field protecting the other mech was still holding. How could they beat something like that? Dot looked around the cockpit. "...Maybe..." she started, then pulled a new lever that had appeared.[break][break]
The arms of the Maxim began to spark wildly with electricity. Dot grinned, maybe this would help. She formed another sword, this one crackling with electricity instead of fire. She lunged again at the other mech, bringing the sword down on it. Electricity flew all over the field, and in a few short moments, it fizzed out entirely. The mech brought up a metal fist to hit the maxim, but it just turned intangible yet again, going through Rc and past to the other side of it. The Maxim plunged the blade deep into the mech's center, blasting the circuits inside with intense levels of electricity. The thing fizzled and popped, and small fires started all over it. As it began to die, it slumped down to the ground, and Ace pulled the sword out, thinking that this fight was over.[break][break]
But before the mech died, suddenly all of the missiles it had left fired straight up into the air, flying up several hundred feet and turning around, all aiming towards the running civilians. They started their descent, going faster and faster. Dot's eyes widened. They had to save the people, but how? What could they even do about this? She looked over to Alice. "Got any ideas...?"[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Together they worked in tandem.
Alice quickly found out that most of the abilities of the mecha that were new--- the phasing, and then the electricity--- were hers to control. Although of course the sword lever was still Ace's to control, she observed, as the pilot defaulted to that when a normal punch didn't do very well against their opponent.
As the opponent counter-attacked, she activated the phasing ability again--- and this time their own counter-attack was decisive. The robot exploded magnificently.
...but it seemed it had a farewell gift, even as it broke to pieces. A bunch of missiles... great, what a sore loser. "I'm on it!" she said as she fiddled with a different control rather than the phaser, this time.
Electricity pooled around the mecha, not merely its sword, this time, and then tendrils of lightning sought each and every one of the deadly projectiles, vaporizing them before they can reach any of the hapless civilians. "Whew, that actually worked! Yay!"
"Hrm, so we're done, huh?" she asked. "We made a bit of a mess, though..."
They probably had time to talk now, although Alice hadn't quite gotten over the fact that she had just been a mecha co-pilot.

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Dot nodded, lgancing down to the screen. There was a silhouette of the Maxim's current form, and it seemed to be draining like a timer. They had a few more minutes like this. She looked over to Alice. "Yeah. Thanks for your help. I think a lot more people would've gotten hurt if we didn't do..that." Dot looked around. It was still surprising, this whole fusing together thing. How did it even work? Probably questions for later.[break][break]
Dot slumped back into her seat. She thought this job would be fun. But it was always filled with danger. She hoped she didn't start going gray within the year. She looked over at Alice. "Good job, though. We should do this again soon. Uhh...how can I reach you?" she asked, realizing that an electric ghost could really be anywhere. How do you keep track of someone without a body, whose entire consciousness and being is electrical signals and pixels? Maybe all she had to do was put out an email. Who knows.[break][break]
Dot looked out of the digital display to the street below. A lot of people had gathered around the mech. But while many of them were cheering in gratitude, some people didn't seem happy at all that the mech was there. Some people were shouting rude things and throwing rocks. Dot sighed. "Well, that's our cue to leave." She manipulated the controls, the mech turning away from the people and starting to walk down the street in the opposite direction. Dot leaned over, using the phaser to go through the building and show up on the next street over. The time was almost out, which would revert the Maxim back to normal and place Alice back into the digital display, though this time she'd be able to exit the mech freely.[break]

Alice noticed the timer at around the same time Ace did--- she guessed that confirms her solid state (hehe) here was just temporary. Still, it had been fun. Who would have known that in her lifetime--- well, not quite, but still--- she would be able to pilot a mecha? She wasn't that much of a fan of them, but still, they were rather impressive things. And this fusion thing was even more impressive.
"Ahaha." she laughed, embarrassed, as Ace thanked her. "Well, it's more the mecha who reacted and did the crazy stuff. I jumped in mostly by accident and to fry your robot... sorry about that." she mumbled, remembering her original intentions mid-sentence.
"Yeah, I'd like to do this again!" she responded, rather enthusiastically. "Um... how can I reach you... does this robot have wifi or something? Well, maybe your phone number... or an email address could be enough." Admittedly, from there, she still had to puzzle the exact address of the device accessing the internet, but those might just be enough clues.
Alice watched the mixed reactions of the crowd. Well, she couldn't fault them; even she thought that there was a fair chance both robots were villainous, and they'd done their fair share of collateral damage. Of course, them not wrecking anything after beating the other robot should really be a clue, as well as the frying-all-the-missiles-before-they-killed-you thing, but not everyone had a good perspective.
"Yeah, let's." With a slight sadness the fusion effect wore off, and she was reduced to pixels once more. She tested her virtual limbs. "Well, looks like your mech is allowing me to leave this time. Anything else you need from me before I go?"

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]It had indeed been fun. And the whole experience left Dot wondering what exactly the Maxim could do. It had not only fused with another being, but it had become much more powerful in doing so. Dot knew there were very powerful people in the world. What would happen if she did this with them? How powerful could the mech become? How many people could she save with higher levels of power?[break][break]
When Alice apologized for her intentions at the beginning of the battle, Dot laughed and shook her head. "Trust me, I'm sure I know how it looked. You just wanted to stop a conflict. But I'm glad we met, Alice. You helped me learn more about what I could do as a fighter." Dot gave Alice a light punch on the shoulder, while we still here- kind of how Dot showed her affection. Now, Alice wanted a way to contact her. "I don't have an email address anymore, but you can have my phone number." Dot then told her the number, and repeated it a couple times so Alice would remember. She couldn't really write it down...After all, Alice had no real body.[break][break]
And now it was over. Alice had moved back into the digital screen, and the other seat had disappeared from the mech's cockpit. Dot sighed, leaning more into her seat. "Uhh...well, not really. I just wanted to thank you again for all of this. That other robot was kicking my ass. Honestly, if not for you, I might have died...No offense," she said, embarrassed. It must be terrible to have died. Dot was curious about how it had happened to Alice, but she wouldn't ask about it until they knew each other a little better. But she smiled anyways. "If you ever need anything, you can come to me. I'll do my best to help you with it. That's what friends are for, okay?"[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Alice nodded, memorizing the number to the best of her ability. She repeated it to herself multiple times to make sure she got it. "I'll check it out later when I have a phone I can use~" she assures the mecha pilot.
"Ah, well, if I had a choice, I wouldn't have died too." she remarked jovially. "Being a ghost has its perks and all, but..." she trails off, leaving Ace to deduce the obvious. There were many things ghosts can't do, after all. Enjoyable and wonderful things. "I guess I'm glad you're alive, too!"
"I will, I will!" she responded. "And if you need me... ah, sheesh, I don't have a permanent phone line. With being immaterial and all." she jokes. "I have this email address, though... " and with that she shared said address to the pilot.
Friends... I could still make them even if I'm dead! Alice was all smiles as she repeated Ace's number one more time, before taking her leave.

OC: I guess we could end it here, unless you have some last remarks? Also, any ideas for next threads with Dot and Alice? Maybe a less combat-y one? Reply in my plotter for this question? XD
