it was finally closing time, but he still had errands to run. he couldn't eat his sad cereal dinner without almond milk, after all, and it was just two blocks to a small-time grocer. with that, he flipped off all but the most necessary of lights, pulled out his key ring, and went off to the front door.
felix was pretty plainly dressed at this point; he had removed his tie for the day, leaving just the button up and a nice-ish pair of pants; these only had a single coffee stain on the knee, thankfully, and it had almost bleached out. if he'd stop falling asleep doing laundry, he might get somewhere with it one day. he's distracted with these thoughts and almost lets his glasses slip from his face, only pushing them up at the least minute; in doing so, he more or less jams the handful of keys into his nose. wonderfully coordinated, this one.
reeling from that, he finally leaves the establishment with a sigh, key in door, and locks it. as he turns and begins to take a few steps, he manages to look up from his phone long enough to notice that theres actually a few people out here at ten; and the few that are out all seem to be dressed for the dark. he's not quite yet aware of the knife the one behind him has, but does manage to freeze up when the first holds out a hand for him to stop.
"alright, mister, give us the keys and your wallet."

[attr="class","spc"] She had lost track of the time as the day's hours passed by so quickly. One moment she was watching the sunrise, the next she was walking in the dark of the night. It was something she was vaguely used to by this point, but there were still times when the day's tendency to fly by certainly threw her off. Today was one of those days, especially when she had made plans she now had to cancel due to the apparent passing of time. Strolling through the streets and lost in her thoughts, Selene had a clear objective for herself; get to her favorite café for a nice warming cup of hot chocolate. The seemingly young woman would lose track of time as she slowly approached the establishment, though. Just as she turned the corner to the street it was on, her eyes would swiftly catch the sight of the familiar owner already locking the door for the night. The sight certainly made her pause, and pull her hand from her pocket to observe the time on some old – yet surprisingly well working – wrist watch. The sight of the time made her brow furrow and she clicked her tongue in frustration. Just as she was about to turn to walk off though, her eyes caught the sight of the others wandering the street near the humble café owner. A cluster of thieves, thugs, scoundrels. They had many names these days, an ironic twist when she recalled the numerous titles and names once held by great warriors or noblemen. Now wasn't the time for musing the change of society in that regard though. She could see what was going on the moment the first of the group requested the owner to stop. Rather than pretend she saw nothing, Selene began to make her approach. She could hear the demands being made for his keys and wallet. Her eyes flicked towards the store, as she silently approached, before she looked to the thug directly in front of her, issuing the orders to Felix. All focus on the unfortunate man, Selene's small stature easily allowed her to get close before one of the flanking men took notice of her. He nodded to her, making a couple others look toward her as she continued her simple walk towards the scene – looking as if she had no idea what was going on. She was able to pass the man that had stopped Felix, before being grabbed by one of the other men. It certainly made her pause, ducking her head to hide her expression, as he demanded she hand over her purse. They certainly weren't picky. To test the man's strength, she lightly tugged her arm back and he roughly pulled her back towards him. She kept her footing as he tugged on her and demanded for her purse, again. The orders to Felix were spat out again, but it was pointless. Selene began to pull the purse from her shoulder, but rather than hand it over, she simply dropped it. Before it hit the ground, the man that had been holding her was lifted up into the air and slammed down into the concrete just as the purse hit the ground. In a blink, she was onto the next one before the reaction to her initial deed could be fully processed. The man in front of Felix was down just as quickly. The man behind Felix brandishing the knife started to pull it up and reach for Felix as things escalated around him. He managed to get a grip on Felix's shirt, tugging him back, but before the knife could come to the café owner's neck, Selene stepped over to grab the blade with her hand. Holding it with one hand, she paused to study the new situation. There was a small tug-of-war over the knife near Felix's neck – her hand thankfully acting like a protective sheath for the moment – and in the brief pause, it was easy to get a good look of Selene. Not even breaking a sweat or looking strained, she just looked irritated if anything. Her lavender eyes briefly met Felix's eyes and suddenly she gave a short " sorry" before grabbing Felix and tugging on him harsh enough to rip him out of the thug's grip. If he fell or not, that was his problem for the moment as she passed him to finish dealing with the rest of the men lingering around trying to comprehend what was suddenly going on with the mugging gone wrong. In just a few seconds though, all threats were knocked out on the ground with Selene the last one standing. Eyeing the cut on her hand from the knife, another cut to her cheek from a gun going off and missing, she turned to look back towards Felix by this point. " Are you alright?" the next momentary eternity went by incredibly fast. felix had never been witness to something like it in person; he knew there were ways for people to move at a pace like that, but to see it in person was something his brain didn't quite catch up on.
the first thought that crossed his mind was that he was being robbed right outside his own store; his mind moved through that, rationalizing that giving over what they wanted was going to be the safest route, since he was... well, right outside his store with a security camera, so he would be in the clear and would be able to salvage the mess, as long as they just took his stuff and left. the fear was still palpable, though, and he hesitated in fumbling into his pockets long enough for a girl to arrive.
he wanted to warn her, but in the midst of doing so, they reached out. then they weren't reaching out anymore. it was in the span of mere heartbeats that each one of them hit the ground, and then there it was; the knife at his throat, and the woman was before him. time seemed to freeze for a moment as he locked eyes with her, and something clicked.
she was scary, she was strong, she was beautiful, and as he finished processing that, she apologized and tossed him forward, causing him to stumble and fall onto one of the previously-smashed thugs. he pulled himself onto hands and knees, backwards, his front facing up and bringing his gaze to look at the woman that just one-man army'd them all.
"uh... i'm, i'm fine. are you?" he points at his own cheek where hers is cut, pulling himself to his feet, legs a little shaky and feeling winded. he didnt notice that his heart was beating so fast, the pounding in his ears. "you're hurt, do you need anything?"
