 marisa 'comic' sans [attr="class","spanish"] about 23 | female | homosexual | villain | metahuman comic is an angst-driven millennial who got dealt a bad hand in life, and works with it. a rough childhood precedes a need for survival, and she ditched home to carve out a path doing anything she could to make it by. after finding a paying role as general hired muscle by the alliance and local kingsport gangs, she's fully aware of the lifestyle she's living and fails to properly cope with it. a budding alcholic with major anger issues and a growing depression, marisa finds herself scraping by in little goblin just to make a living. @comicApplication - LINKfriendships marisa favors loyalty and people who don't wear masks. she likes to see whats shes getting into upfront and personal; her short temper and inability to play along with jokes keeps the group of people she can get along with to a minimum. if you can put back drinks at a bar and keep to sensible topics, she can talk to you; she can put up with you. while she puts up a hard front, she really enjoys listening to people as long as they dont focus on her at all; that said, she mostly has work-based friendships with other villains in her own work range, likely meeting them via mutual escort duties or enforcement, and quietly drinking with them after they get paid. people she would interact with - like apartment neighbors, coworkers, bar mates - are ideal, but marisa is flexible. hateships she doesn't put up with magic or psionics, and she doesn't tolerate idiocy. if you try to pry, she'll rip your face off. comic is extremely emotionally guarded and cannot stand to have anyone knock on those walls. making her feel useless or like she makes everything worse will draw her ire and hatred, and being unwilling to fight back will cause her to become angrier. anyone who isn't paying her and insists that they are superior to her can get their faces knocked off. its pretty easy to get on her bad side, overall, and so any plot can work. romances occupied by VALKYRIE. |  felix ugumi [attr="class","spanish"] about 28 | male | heterosexual | civilian | human a normal man with normal aspirations, felix came from a single-parent family with a father who ditched. as it turns out, this was a recurring theme in the fathers life, and in time felix discovered that he has a half-sibling - maybe more. he's gone through the hoops to finish his education and open his own business; a cafe near the junction, with an upstairs that functions as his apartment. he pours everything he has into running the establishment, hoping to do well by the community and himself. @felixApplication - LINKfriendships felix is a likable fellow. he loves small talk and current day events, and keeps up a friendly air while working. he would do his best to get to know his regulars and people from the local businesses around him. while he might have an awkward slip of the tongue on occasion, being easily embarrassed and caught off balance, he always finds the time to laugh. one thing to note is that he is pretty protective of those he cares about; he's a gentle man who gains an inner fire whenever someone is hurt or in danger. hateships he has a natural disdain for criminal elements, but a strong hatred for womanizers and those who seek to throw a wrench at any kind of equality kingsport might find. naturally, being a human in a superpower dominated city leaves him a little uneasy, but he doesn't have problems with powers as a whole; rather, people who misuse those powers for personal gain. theres a quiet jealousy within him at people like his half-sister who have this power to do good in the world; he feels like he could help the world if he wasn't so mundane. romances occupied by SELENE |  abigail "franchise" wheelus [attr="class","spanish"] about 21 | female | pansexual | hero | metahuman an impressionable hero who doesn't quite understand the impact of her powers, franchise has grown up around the media of heroics and the aftermath of the alien war of 2008. she's been with the initiative for seven years, training and doing her best to earn the respect of peers and public alike. she lives for the attention of stopping crime and saving lives. @franchiseApplication - LINKfriendships friends come fast and come easy, as abigail has a bright and adventurous nature. in fact, it may be that some have difficulty grasping how easy it is for her to become acquainted to you! she especially loves the older heroes - those that have some fame under their belts, or were highly active in the 2008 war or before then. other than that, she would try to go out and meet/greet any fans she might have - in fact, i wouldnt be surprised if she did start her own fan club designed to promote positive actions and community work, or goes out of her way to work with charities for kids with terminal diseases. its hard to escape from her friendship and commitment. hateships no tolerance for crime, whatsoever, to the point where she sometimes becomes a tad zealous. while she hasn't had to deal with anything major in her career as of writing this, she would easily go too far. additionally, she considers protecting the public to come first, and so anyone who thinks that the people are collateral damage - Justicars or villains/vigilantes who see it as such - would earn her ire. romances she's young and new to romance. give it your best shot. |  faustine "faust" fenstermacher [attr="class","spanish"] about 300 | female | asexual | villain | lich faust is a living nightmare that is fueled by a scientific itch to learn it all on her own. a self-certified expert on necromancy, she enlists her services to the mysterious organization spectre so that she might further her research into her own immortality and her scientific basis in the magical world. @faustApplication - LINKfriendships faust respects knowledge and its practical applications only. as such, she only favors other experts and learned magical users; those born with natural magical talents don't get her attention. faust views it all as a resource to be shared; her centuries old work on desecrating corpses and reanimating the long dead is all for science, all so that they might all acquire the forbidden knowledge that others would want gone. she would be willing to enter deals with people for information exchanges, and seeks both mentors and apprentices to fuel the cycle. additionally, she has a soft spot for spectre projects, especially since she had more than her fair share of time to do what she wanted to most of them. hateships faust doesn't easily express hatred herself. that said, it might be easy for others to hate her; she's a disgusting abomination, for all intents and purposes; a walking corpses dressed up to look pretty with a soul kept in a secret location. her spellcrafting often involves ripping out her own organs or bones, and many of the magical persuasion could peg anything she does as taboo. the more mundane spectre employees avoid her, having started rumors about avoiding her lab lest they end up gone. i'm eager to find people who have it out for faust, honestly - please throw ideas at me about conflict. romances she loves her work and the dead. |

felix x Evelyn Inoue Two humans doin human things yes! Evelyn works with supers all the time, but every so often she needs to take a break from the office and grab a cup of coffee or tea. She is very supportive of the community and would gladly go to Felix's cafe regularly. I imagine that they've known each other for at least a few months, Evelyn comes over during her brief breaks, or on the rare occasion that she has a day off, she talks about little things that have been stressing her, admits that she's totally jelly of his romance. Because of her work she would ask that if he ever had someone that might need her help to at least give them her card, and she'd send people his way by recommendation of the excellent service. Basically she sees him as a friend, and since she doesn't have many it would mean a lot to her. If he ever needed her help she'd totally be there to see what she could do, regardless of the sort of business. Yes no? Thoughts?

I welcome a cafe regular! Felix would even put her business card(s) in one of those slots by the register, to keep it visible for all interested parties outside of those he would recommend personally. Seeing as shes a regular, he'd go out of his way to find time to sit with her or ensure she had a bar seat, so they could keep up a dialogue while he worked.
Worth noting that his romance won't start off as such; initially, SELENE will just be... a special kind of roommate, so to speak. A protector of his establishment and himself who decides to move in to keep it all safe, and things go from there. Still, it would get an interesting reaction from him to call her that! This also serves as a reminder to myself to ask Accel how many people are aware Selene lives there...
Thoughts: yes, give me the regular customers. Give them all to me.

felixAwww he's so nice ^^ Yea I wasn't sure if the two had started yet, but she'd definitely get curious taking notice to a girl going upstairs where she knows he lives. She wouldn't prod too much, just ask him questions, probably tease him a bit. It would give her reason to worry about him though, if he ever expressed that he was in need of actual protection >< At any rate she'd totally adore him and I can start a thread for them if you like whenever you're ready.

Weirdly enough, I think there's some potential for FRANCHISE and rougarou. River is all about using his position to make a positive impact in other people's lives, whether it's through volunteering or charity. I don't know if she'd have a reason to go down to Lafayette, but maybe they could meet at some charity event? Maybe he's helping with security and people management and he's assigned to basically be Franchise's handler at some big charity carnival? I dunno, I think they could just do good stuff together. just pls don't run into him on the full moon

rougarou give me the weird ass friendship between scruffy cop and overeager young adult. I'm down for almost any excuse to push them together; charity event sounds fun, as would just something as simple as "shit, he's the first responder on the scene but its a super powered weirdo, then franchise is the hero that arrives to handle it"
otherwise, i think i can have her "assigned" for something down there in the bayou and good ole riv can be in charge of showing her around town, if we want a super casual thread!

If Franchise wants media attention, befriending Sally is deffos how she'll get it! Only bad thing that could possibly come of this is Sally's tendency to butt into people's personal lives. She is very nosy. Not necessarily clingy but she can come off that way. If Franchise is fightin any crime... Sally wants to BE there, and probably won't be able to stay off her phone.
There might be a slight strain since it might seem as though Sally cares more about the popularity and attention someone can bring to her vs seeing them as a real person or a real friend with whom you can be serious with. But... that bridge can be crossed if they get to it! 0:

wtf i flex and work out to get ready to plot with FRANCHISE then i read "i wouldnt be surprised if she did start her own fan club designed to promote positive actions and community work, or goes out of her way to work with charities for kids with terminal diseases" and i swear all of my muscles have just fallen out of my body. that's too cute. but hello ms. fame monster, meet other fame monster! idk how franchise would feel about molly but molly would love abs here. molly lives for vivacious and she lives for improving the lives of others too. she donates her initiative pay to charity and to initiative foundations, after all. that paycheck is pittance to her, anywaybut justicar v defender drama. they entirely differ in their philosophies on how to improve the livelihood of the citizens they protect. i would love a thread with both of them heroing, crowd gathers and something terrible happens to the crowd. would you be up for that one day? anyway, hit me back murdoc! at any rate, I WANNA DO A HERO THREAD. It's pretty likely that given an opportunity for some in-depth talk, Yura could potentially "cure" comic of her depression. Being relatively young at 23, Yura may offer the Initiative as an asylum of sorts, of shelter and care, but not as the cure. Given time and a willingness to face her pain, comic could might even become a hero! Who knows! Pretty blurry in terms of thread ideas atm, but hit me up if you're interested! Warning: may reach the center of the Earth from deepness.

and yes, give me like... them being there to open up some new library for the kids or some shit, and someone busts it up because fuck the initiative, and things get out of hand from there and how they both plan on handling things
Yura i actually already have a whole arc planned out where comic is gunna go from working class villain to retired civilian working day jobs and its under way; there was never a chance she was going to go into heroics, and vigilante acts are just not in line with her morality and way of life. it was villain deeds or civilian life for her.
im still okay with threading, though, if you want some more casual threads where theres basic interaction in a public setting!

Okay two things actually, not just for Faust. Brandon Ackerman and FRANCHISE I can very well see Abby being one of the heroes on Brandon's ass after what he did to Justice Square. As you can probably imagine, she wouldn't take too kindly to two explosions in the Square...one of which did the damage on the scale of a small hurricane. So yeah, at first I can see them having to duke it out, Abby for turning Brandon for justice n' all, and Brandon because he still needs to find a way back home. Beyond that initial meeting...idk, whether or not they become friends, lovers etc, I'd have to pan that out, y'know? Now then....Brandon and Faust A living nightmare who is fueled by knowledge would be very curious as to how Brandon appeared out of the blue with the power over matter and space. Things like summoning swords from out the blue, throwing up a shield out of nowhere to protect himself, inexperienced as he may be, I can see Faust being interested in seeing what makes Brandon tick, like dissecting a frog. So basically Faust wants Brandon as a lab experiment and Brandon wants none of that. |

felix and GuardianI think that Uriel (as his public identity of Victor Graves) and Felix could actually make pretty fast friends. Being a programmer by day, Victor could be a frequent visitor of his coffee shop and could get to know the owner a bit. Interesting plots could result of this as well... FRANCHISE and GuardianThis could be interesting. While both are heroes who love justice, they are currently occupying very different factions. Uriel believes that his abilities and physiology are too dangerous to allow himself to be registered and possibly examined. Despite that I can see these two getting along quite well, and maybe one day she and others could convince Guardian that joining the initiative is the right thing to do.

Could do a mission together, or just talk in the Initiative Compound. She could know Julia's predecessor? She fought in the alien invasion, after all...
Alternatively, the original Electromancer was in the alien invasion too, and she could hear that someone with the same name is active in Kingsport, and they can meet or something XD while Julia contrasts with Abigail, Alice would probably encourage her XD
