Moonflower: what's one dream your character has had? ---
it keeps her up at night. it creeps into her mind when she's weakest, when she so desperately desires the peace and comfort in dreams, it creeps into her mind and takes over, taking her to where she wants to be.
there it is, in her nose, the overwhelming scent of people. sweat, flesh, smoke, drinks, it filled the air and her eyes open, and she sees it all around - there, the bar is full, with many a jovial people around and enjoying their purchased goods. she can see it all from her vantage and presses her back further against the wall - she feels it, cold, reassuring, solid.
she spends the night like this, an entire shift, even getting to pick up a measly welp of a man who was harassing a girl and toss him into the streets. some things always satisfy.
she gets to walk home as the night is at its peak, street lamps lighting the way. she feels the light taste of alcohol in her mouth - a singular shot as her shift ended, just to get her home, and she almost hums; the night air feels fresh on her skin, feels refreshing, feels like comfort.
she is at her apartment, key to the door, the door creaks open and its home, and yet it doesnt quite look like it. theres an element of clean to it, element of organization, element of... a clean floor. a clean counter. no; theres still a pizza box, there, and she moves towards her futon.
there is a human mass there, crinkled in sheets, and marisa kicks her shoes off and presses into the bedding, letting her body press against the warmth. theres a sound, an awakening, and she finds herself pressing lips to the back of her head, shh'ing, still pressing to the warmth. it smelled like flowers, like home,
and she always awakens there, in a cold sweat, longing in her heart, her soul.

Poppy: What is something your character wants to forget? ---
She wants to forget when it all ended, when it all began.
She wants to forget when the alarms in their house that she didn't even know were there blared, when she saw her father's face pale, when he began scrambling for his phone, and then for some sophisticated control.
She wants to forget when the windows began covering themselves with steel plates, when the gunshots and the explosions began.
She wants to forget as her father brought her to the basement she had always been forbidden to enter.
She wants to forget the sound of the men's feet when they had broken past the defenses and the drones.
She wants to forget her father's face as he lay her upon that contraption, as he placed the helmet upon her head.
She wants to forget his smiling face as the bullets pierced through his chest, as the bullets struck her as well, as the machine whirred into the final stages of what it was supposed to do.
She wants to forget what he said as they both lay dying.
I love you, Alice. Goodbye.
She wants to forget. But she can't.
Not until she avenges him. And perhaps not until she dies again.

Edelweiss: Describe a time your character has had to be brave.
It was loud like the thunder of a storm. It was cold like the winter of a full moon. It was lonely like the photo on the wall. It was dark like the midnight from his room. It was empty. It was steel. It was a cage and a hundred staring faces. It was death. It was goodbye. It was the last time.
But he breathed. But he lived. But he had chosen pain over end. He was fourteen once and fourteen no more.

Laurel: If your character could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?
We live in a world of scarcity, where everything that is given is finite and not everyone has the same level of access to resources. Crime, evil, amorality, fear and anxiety are byproducts of that scarcity. What most seek are avenues of exits to fulfill these needs that all men and women deserve. And so it was that I desired to create the Nephalus Plant, an energy plant that would produce limitless energy so long as it was maintained. If only it was not ruined by the sabotage of some unknown entity, we would have been one step closer to that reality.
But that is beside the point, I would like to be remembered as a hero and as a conqueror. But not as a conqueror of men, but of evils that beset men: Lust, Greed, Pride, Envy are the invisible rot consuming the base of our humanity. And too few of us are willing of changing it, even though we can, now more than ever.

Yarrow: What would your character go to war over?
They thought to hide away the secrets.
I came for them.
They thought to keep the knowledge away.
I thirst for it.
They put their hands up to their throats.
I slit them.
For every bit of knowledge that can be measured, I measured it in bone, in blood, in pounds of flesh. It was only a matter of time before those that would keep the lore I desired from me, those that would proclaim is safe from mankind, would soon find a sway of allegiance upon encountering a lack of life to sustain it. Those that claimed by heart and mind to keep the innocent safe from things they shouldn't learn found themselves crawling from an early grave to help me deliver it to the masses.
The world must learn, after all.

Kennedia: One thing your character admires in someone.
Are you really going to say it? How much God has loathed you for quite some time. Even when your voice chimed, I still came to rhyme. Your gregarious comebacks, and viper tongue at the ready for any retort I hold. But as you say this in my ear, far away from me. God still loathes how much you try to help me. Mission after mission, you still throw it all at me. And as I raise my head to defend and honour for what I believe in, you're there beside me. For every mistake, for every hassle I make. Your patience is far greater than what I would ever exceed. Red stains you and black miasma follows. Why did God tell me I am supposed to be in your life when you know you shouldn't be part of mine? You pull me down by the collar, glaring into my eyes. Your harsh words reaching my ears to tell me how much I have yet to grow, this comes as a surprise. A smile comes, one I haven't felt in such a while and you look at me in wonder as to why I act like so. From your attitude, to your persistence into knowing what I do, I guess I do know why I will always and forever admire you. From little details to create a huge canvas for me. Do you already know who you are? High and mighty, but subtle and sweet. I could chase you forever, if you ever let me. Smoke Journal Entry #186 Admiration

Xanthoriza: What’s something your character has run away from?
He ran. He ran far, far away from the scent of blood and gunpowder in the air. They took down his family without a second thought. The amount of money in his parent's wallets were worth more than their lives, the lives of his siblings, his own life.
The thief let go of his sibling's neck, their body dropping to the ground like dead weight. They then set their sights on him. And he had no other choice but to run. And so he did. He sprinted out of the ally way, darting in onto the streets. His sobs could be heard loud and clear as he left his family behind, the thief's shouts and footsteps echoing behind.
He had to run away, and he regrets it to this very day.

Nightshade: What is a painful truth your character has had to face?
I constantly battle with the idea as to whether or not people are worth fighting for. I once built the technology to potentially allow everyone an infinite supply of energy, and it was taken away from me by saboteurs who had their own interests in mind over the people's.
Still, I wonder if they did the right thing, that should I have made the technology true, that we would not simply use it for the sole purpose of oppressing others, weaponizing it so that it would lead to the end of human life. It's a hard pill to swallow, and my lack of self-doubt back when I was younger led me to many lives being lost.

Daisy: Four things that make your character happy.
1. Thomas loves to read comics and manga, and watch cartoons and movies having to deal with superheroes. Though he is a little ashamed of his hobbies he doesn't try to hide them obsessively, and uses the materials as a way to immerse himself in a world of superheroes even though he can't be one.
2. Hearing his parents stories of heroism, or even seeing them in the news and on TV. Thomas idolizes his mom and dad because he's always wanted to do the things they can do. When he was growing up his dad would always tell him real life stories (though they might have been a bit exaggerated) of his parents doing hero work to Thomas before bedtime.
3. Solving a case. Thomas does his own hero work through his detective agency he runs out of his home. Kids in the neighborhood are his main customers (though his services are free of charge), usually asking to find a lost toy or pet. But no matter the case, when its solved he feels like a true hero.
4. His mother's homemade pasta e fagioli. Growing up his mother always told him if he ate enough of it he'd grow faster and become stronger. Even though now he knows its not true its his favorite meal and is very nostalgic for him.

TW for descriptions of CSA/sexual assault. Spoiler tagged as an additional precaution.
You are thirteen years old and you say please until the word wears as thin as cheap cotton. Please, stop. Please, stop. Please, stop. It tastes like bile when you speak, but he never gets tired of hearing it. He smooths your hair back from your face, tucks a strand behind your ear. He loves your hair. It's the color of the roasted chestnuts you two buy together in Central Park. It's the color of the lining on the mittens he got you for Christmas.
You're so lucky, everyone says, to have a foster father who will take in a mutant child. You're so lucky to have a foster father who loves you as much as his biological children. You're so lucky, everyone says, to have a home, after what you did.
You know you are. You know this is what you deserve. His hand still burns like a brand on your thigh, on your hip, on your breast. You still say please until your throat turns raw.

ACORN: What would your character do if they lived forever?
A terribly phrased question. What does 'do' mean? Are you referring to how someone will live their life according to certain precepts or identities in which they associate to themselves, possibly for the eternity of time? Or are you speaking of actions which people perform. Given that I don't think you would enjoy me talking about eating, sleeping, taking a shit and staring at the sky existentially until nothing matters to me anymore, I suppose the former question would be adequate.
I see myself living forever, since that is the only constant that can root anyone. If you're asking me to identify one concept that I can forseeably confirm to an infinite length, that, I'm afraid, is near impossible.

Bay leaf: What gives your character strength?
The idea of a compassionate mother who never got to love him, the memories of a beloved woman who followed and believed in him, the dreams that he will surpass his father and prove to him he is worthy of godhood.
Dionysus's ideals give him the strength to never bow down to gods or fate, but mold it with his own hands as mankind does.
